Billie Joe Saunders - smart move
Looks like BJS has taken very nice step aside money (see today's IFLTV interview) to allow Lee & Quillin to fight, and has now been mandated to fight for the vacant IBF title against N'Dam. A very winnable fight, and one he can probably get it at home. Smart business move by Team Saunders. If he gets the fight with N'Dam and wins, then expect a Eubank rematch for a world title.

Is n'dam any more winnable than quillin and lee? They both carry a punch, but n'dam probably a better boxer than both? Well he largely outboxed quillin when he wasn't bouncing off the floor.
But if he got a good pay off and a guaranteed title shot still, then yeh probably good business.

Agree its a good move but I thought out of the 3 Lee would be far easier to outbox.

Billy Joe Saunders has declined to fight for the IBF title. Remains on course to fight the winner off Lee-Quillin

Eddie Hearn said they'd probably turn down the IBF strap, don't know what route they would prefer to go down though, he won't get Cotto, and he'd be annihilated by GGG. Best off waiting for the Lee-Quillin winner I suppose.

I think Quillin beats Lee, so will BJS really be better off fighting Quillin or would have been smarter to face the guy that Quillin dropped 6 times?

Re: Billie Joe Saunders - smart move
No, but he said he reckon that they'll turn it down, he was right.
I really hope Lee beats Quillin. Definitely has the power to and the way Rosado was getting to him you'd have to think he has a chance if it begins to go late.
Quillin has real power of his own though and could easily get Lee out of there early though.
I really thought Lee fought a fantastically controlled fight to win the title, everything came together for him, he did everything correct. Walked his man into a trap, looked as though it was a real Adam Booth style plan to be honest, executed really well.

Depends what confidence saunders has in his chin.... the guy who bounced off the floor 6 times, was outboxing quillin inbetween. Saunders doesn't bang like quillin but doesn't seem chinny... so maybe he thinks stylistically quillin is a better bet, and/or just that it might carry a better purse? If lee wins... its an all traveller showdown that will shift some tickets.

I'm not sure with Lee, think he just seemed to hit another gear in his last fight... Remains to be seen though.

Rumours are Saunders was paid £300,000 step aside money.
Don't forget he turned down the Kprpbov fight to fight Eubank Jr.
