The "oof, my head is going to hurt in the morning" thread
Just thought I would start a thread about any unusual alcohol you might have bought or tasted.
I bought a couple of bottles of "lazy jacks" earlier. It's a cloudy cider fr the USA and rather quite nice. Only 75p in Tescos at the moment and 4.7%.
Rather enjoyable!
I also bought some brains SA and Montana (Italian cider) on the weekend. Leaving those for a fortnight before I taste though.

On a visit to Prague I had the pleasure of enjoying a fair few pints of Kelt - A stout similar to Guinness with a chocolatey undertone - Unfortunately it is no longer produced but it is in my top 5 of drinks I have ever tried

Years ago I went to Wetherspoons (I'm not proud, I was thirsty) and they had Fruli on tap. Completely girly as it's a strawberry beer but on a hot summer afternoon it was a damn sight more refreshing that Guinness. You can only get it in tiny bottles nowadays.
Also been drinking TROOPER ale bought purely for the fact that it's an IRON MAIDEN related bitter. It's actually a mighty fine beer and deserves a wider audience however many of you will undoubtedly be too soft to even open the bottle.

I am sure they sell that in Wetherspoons also.
The Lazy Jacks I had last night was lovely and seriously better than the Sommersby I had afterwards.
A tipple I did have at the tail end of last year was in Worcester on v2 night out - Hogans Cider. Watcha gunna do when Hogan cider gives you a headache in the morning? It was good though!

My Dad used to brew his own beer, cider, and wine. Me and a couple of mates would frequently mix this up with some gin, or whatever was in my parents drinks cabinet. It tasted revolting, but got you drunk, cheaply and quickly.
I did get in trouble from time to time, for drinking a little too much.

But not as much at your pathetic attempts to appear amusing/intelligent by editing my posts. Never mind son, when your Mummy increases your pocket money and sets you free of her aprons strings you too may get to appreciate a real alcoholic beverage. However, no doubt you and you X-Box buddies just end up getting hammered on Lambrini and playing with each other's winklesONETWOFOREVER wrote:DAVE667 wrote:Sounds lovely.Paul Mac 6CW wrote:On a visit to Prague I had the pleasure of enjoying a fair few pints of Kelt - A stout similar to Guinness with a chocolatey undertone - Unfortunately it is no longer produced but it is in my top 5 of drinks I have ever tried

Cider tends to give me heartburn, so I steer clear. Stella is obviously a drink I enjoy.

Well, if the friend says they'll sort out your problematic crick (in the neck) that's fine, however, if they want to get to grips with that problematic crack, that's another matter entirelyTRUSSMAN66 wrote:DAVE667 wrote:...AND ILLITERATE!!!!!!!TRUSSMAN66 wrote:I'd never drunk cider until I came over here................Went with Joanne to a party one night and there was something called Olde english there and I got drunk and threw up terribly when I got home..........

Bacardi 151, so strong your not supposed to take it on a plane. Had a bottle in the bar onboard and it was a rite of passage that everyone had to have a shot before opening there account. Was very funny to watch a lot of the yanks throwing up after it :-D
We brew are own beer/lager/cider and stout and have had some corkers. The stout was heavy as efff and the missus (who likes it) only managed to have one a night. Some of the cheaper beers are weird (Geordies tastes like a really strong fizzy bitter) oh and we tried brewing our own spirits at one point. NEVER EVER will be doing that again, was like drinking raw alcohol mixed with gelatin.

You can still get it! I am sure its in Sainsburys.Stella wrote:Anyone remember drinking K cider? It was around in the early 90's. Headache material.
A more unusual one was called Diamond Blush (a rose version of Diamond White)

Drunk them as well. There was a bar in Oxford that sold all the strong Ciders. Had some good nights after necking a few of those. The white was stronger than the blush, from memory?
