Interesting developments at SKY
I wonder how the relationship between Sky and WWE is these days?
There is no doubt that the WWE Network will be harming the PPVs that Sky were making and this in turn will have had an impact on future negotiations in the future. I have no doubt Sky will keep them on but most probably offer less in the future.
Anyway, back to my main point.
With the above situation making the relationship frostier than before, Sky have announced today that TNA on Demand has started for free (I think) on the Sky service.
Basically, if you go to the On Demand section of your box, you select "Box Sets" and then "Challenge", you will find all of the recent TNA broadcasts.
Now I havent been on there yet but I would imagine that not only would you get the weekly Impact tapings but also the PPVs, ONO and Explosion shows.
Because I cant look right now, I dont know how far back it goes (I would expect the last few weeks worth, so only recent PPV) but to me its interesting and possibly signs that SKY and WWE are not talking!
If anyone can take a look and confirm any of the above, I would appreciate it!

As far as I can tell there are a few PPV's up, British Boot Camp and some other specials. Cant see any Impact tapings up yet.

What I'd not realised till today (maybe everyone else knows) is that Fastlane is being shown on Sky One (not just Sky Sports 1, but also Sky One).

Sky One? Interesting! Seems a bit of a middle finger up at the Network's free trial

You have to wonder if Sky is testing the water about where they can show WWE PPVs, both from the side of seeing what kind of viewership they get and also to see what, if anything, WWE can do or do do about it. Because, if Sky then put Wrestlemania on one of their free channels that would create a really interesting scenario.
As it is. If Sky promote that Fastlane is available for free in HD on your TV and plant the seed that this might be happening with Mania, it could be really interesting to see how many cancellations of the Network WWE might get when the free Feb is up by people waiting to see what move Sky will make and knowing they can sign up again for the Network at the 11th hour for 9.99 if they need to.
From Sky's point of view. I think WWE were really silly to negotiate a deal with Sky that led Sky to thinking they were going to make money out of the PPVs by showing them on Box Office, only for WWE to massively undercut them with the Network. Also, if they increase the exposure of WWE PPVs, maybe that helps create demand for the weekly Raw show via Sky Sports. Who knows... I just think its a really interesting move.

There would be no way in hell SKY would show Mania free, thats where they make their money from the Wrestling, as people who don't watch also order it.

SKY could easily show Mania on Sky1 this year if it thinks the Network is undercutting the money it makes by showing Mania on Box Office. It isn't in that desperate need for the money, especially if it feels buy rates will be down anyway due to the Network.
A petty move, if you call it such, would put SKY in a strong position for further negotiations. Even more so if people don't choose to renew the Network in February

Who in their right mind would pay £20 to watch ONE WWE PPV on Sky Box Office. The price is atrocious.
