(cough) Live scores 28-29/5/11-THE DEBUT
First topic message reminder :
Baggsy the remote control from now until September.
For those who don;t know. I entertain myself of a sunday by watching GAA and telling folk about it as I watch.....nobody listens and that is ok. To prove that point, I am gonna go all RTE on your posteriors and watch the Down Vs Our Ma game delayed. Now depending on whether or not I have to relinquish the remote at any point during the evening, this will either be at RTE pace, or at RebelWife's want.
Lets see how we go, and I'll batter on then into the morra where Tipp whup Cork.

Although I expected Cork to get beat by Tipp today,I still had a slight feeling that they might just sneak a win. What kind of broadside you left for the ragers on 606?
Is it even safe to do that in your neighbourhood RB?

They are not lucky pants. they are championship pants.
They made their debut last season. It has become a Rebel tradition for when cork play. They were also worn last week.

I told them not be be racist and sectarian.....but it was pulled immediately.
I wear trousers as well. Not just the pants and I have washed the pants this week. It is perfectly safe.
I went out for a walk with the kids between the hurling and the soccerball. i thought it would be a show of defiance. I was beaten to the punch by a tribe of pre-teen Man united fans.

Bear bating is usually a waste of time, it's like talking to a brick wall. Surprised though you never got a reply, they usually start foamin at the gob.
There's one thing I've always wanted to know about hurling RB, thought you'd be the very man to ask. As the sliotar is so small and the pitch is quite large is it hard at all to see the ball from high up in the terracing at say croker or in pairc ui choaimh?

You would think Larry Corbett would wipe the blood off his face before doing an interview.

You have to watch it a bit to learn to follow the sliotar.
The higher up you are, the easier it is imo. I genuinely don't know what managers can see from the sideline that is of any worth.
Callinan got motm,
Corbett sending a signal to the blood and bandage. He won't wash his face till september.

Well, if you look at where his stick was, it was well over. The umpires had the best view, but as you say, the match was already over by then.

Re: (cough) Live scores 28-29/5/11-THE DEBUT
I saw it again on the sunday game and I don't think it was over.
I thought donal og had a very good game. his distribution was excellent and he didn't have much chance with the goals.
On reflection, we did better than I expected. The basic skills were better than when KK beat us last year but still not great. a few lads not effective in their positions and not the most astute changes from the sidelines
We will be looking at the Limerick management team and wondering what might have been with a proven management team to guide a group of players that should be doing better. Whether that would be good enough is another matter entirely.
it is a sad day when we look at an 8 point defeat as something less than a complete disaster.

Re: (cough) Live scores 28-29/5/11-THE DEBUT
I've no bother following it on telly, was just wondering if it was the same in the stand, like on the hill and play is way up the other end. I really need to get mysel over for a couple of games one of these days....
Looking forward to watching the sunday game on RTE.ie this week, heard there was going to be a low turnout for the Tipp game, what was the crowd like?

35k i think.
ticket sales were slow, but the walkup trade was ok. I have to watch hurling from the side of the field I can't make anything out from behind the goals as i desperately try and kid myself that I have 20-20

Rebel
You never mentioned Lar Corbett's stamp on Donal Og Cusack's back after Eoin Kelly scored his goal. Really nasty and cowardly act. Nothing done by ref or umpires so you would think the CCCC would take action. No! They only seem to be interested in Kerry players. The whole discipline thing is a mess.

Too busy complaining about the build up. I only saw it afterwards.
Yes, the disciplinary system is a mess....he probably got a bye from the queen for doing it.

Leitrim...hate them. every last one of them.
I was best man at a wedding to a fella. He was a mongrel. half kerry. Half leitrim.
As part of the present to him I got him a Leitrim jersey (Kerry ones are ten a penny)..... that just shows that I amn't a bigot.
I bought another mongrel friend of mine (Kerry/Galway) a Kerry jersey.....so I am doubly not a bigot.
I even put a meath jersey on once.....but I felt dirty so took it off again. My club wore the Mayo colours.....I hate them all. ALL OF THEM.
