OWGR March 2015 How do Sagarin Rankings Compare
First topic message reminder :
Wow...Two weeks in a row, two players ranked #297 win on the PGATour. Congratz to Paddy. I got him at #82 in the Rankings.
Paul Casey up to 45th in the Rankings and an invite to Cadillac this week. James Hahn also backdoors an invite to Cadillac if he wants to leave his very pregnant wife. No invite for Paddy though
I haven't got the projections for #297 calculated. Sorry. You will have to wait for the OWGR.
But I do have the top 100. The number in parenthesis is the Sagarin Golfweek ranking for comparison.
Players with an asterisk (*) players have already secured an invite to the Masters.

That's great info GPB, Thanks.
But don't write George Coetzee off just yet.
And: It just goes to show what a chance the English patient missed last Sunday.
Really hoping Warren gets the result he needs.

Warren, Todd, Coetzee, and Hoffman have the best chance of passing Casey.
If three of them pass him, he is out of the Masters.

Arrivaderci Franny, whilst it looks like Siem is leaving Morocco.
Whilst Fish has confirmed the obvious.
Options for Augusta slowly reducing but Coetzee still going very strong.

Guesswork here, but am thinking that a Top 30 would lift Marc Warren past Dufner & Luke Donald and into the Top 50 - but perhaps Todd still has a say in that discussion?

Attrition has already put Warren ahead of Dufner.
Warren needs the equivalent of 28th or better to pass Donald which is not looking likely. Needs to finish the last two holes at -3 most likely.

Not sure if a T30 something finish is a good tournament.
He needed to be two shots better to get into the Masters.
Every shot counts!!

I think your standards change depending on what side of the pond the player is on.
IMO, T30 something does not qualify as a good tournament for someone trying to get a Masters invite.

Well, he was certainly in the top ten of those on the wrong side of the draw.

Re: OWGR March 2015 How do Sagarin Rankings Compare
Warren's got a decent record in the few US opportunities afforded by sponsors. In the past 24 months at least, his only US starts resulted in:
2013 PGA: 12th.
2014 PGA: 15th
2015 Cadillac: 17th
I'm sure that, given his continued progress, he'll continue that level of performance.
PS: As far as I can see, Warren finished T9 of those who played morning/afternoon, and we recorded early Thursday the split for Europeans vs marquee Americans.

Walker displaces Justin Rose in the top 10. His highest ranking ever.
Spieth gets to a career best #4, passing Adam and J-Day. Also his highest ranking ever.
No one gets an 11th hour invite to the Masters. Unless a player wins Houston that has not qualified.
PD is reporting that Houston is in the 56/58 range. and no one will catch Rory until after the Masters, even if #2 Henrik wins both tournaments.
Spieth could get to #2 next week, Garcia #4, Walker #5, Rose #7.

Ramsay and Wattel crash the Top 100 to 77th and 94th respectively.
Woods is down to 104th in the OWGR. Probably falls another 10 spots this coming week.
Marc Warren is the equivalent of 0.6 points (gross) from a Masters invite.

If Spieth got to number 2 then that's got to be the lowest aggregate age for the top 2 ever.

Indeed, probably the lowest age aggregate happened in 1998, when Tiger was 22 and Duval was 26

Surprised you watch something sponsored by Shell Mac, given your newly found green affiliations.

I'd have thought someone like you who asserts to be politically astute would realise the policies of the green party can't be financed, not to mention some are just hysterically stupid, which is fine as they won't get in, but silly to have policies which are unattainable and even more silly to vote for them

I've no idea why you think I'm a right winger Mac, most parties have something decent about their policies and a lot of rubbish ones. I couldn't affiliate to any one of them in particular, but sometimes you have to vote out of apathy for the others, or tactically. This time around it will be whatever keeps the SNP out.

I assume you are right wing as over the years you have taken right wing positons on the following
the economy
welfare
taxation
womens rights
LGBT issues
justice
And probably more. I would be interested to hear what area's of policy you consider yourself to hold a more socialist position?

Odd circumstances:
Lefty should get back inside the top 15 should he win this week from #21.
Tiger should get inside the top 20 should he win next week, and he will be drop to at least #110 this week.

Has there ever been a case where a player has been in the top 50 going into Masters week but didn't qualify!?
Wasn't Rose in the top 50 once and didn't qualify for the US Open? Or am I totally wrong here lol
