Paul Butler
Challenges for his 2nd world title tonight on Boxnation, anybody going to be watching this? How highly do you rate Butler?

Wow
blast from the past LOL.
Promised a lot just a couple of years ago then went quite and only pops up now in my memory.
Typical scouse plenty of lip and overcome by the hype. Goodluck to him.

Re: Paul Butler
How has he been overcome by the hype?
He's won one world title and is now fighting for another?
Good on him, won't be watching this (probably not) but hope he manages to pull it off.

Yeah I agree with this, won his world title last year and has dropped back down to his natural weight since then. Promised a lot in his 17 fights, won a world title and could win a second, I'd say that's delivering on his promise.

Re: Paul Butler
Really good little fighter Butler. I watched him edge out Hall in Newcastle and he is extremely talented (although, I'm always wary of fighters trained by Arnie Farnell - they tend to go backwards technically). It should be an excellent fight tonight. Graham Houston had it as a 60-40-type affair in Butler's favour.
I think he can outbox Tete - a good fighter himself - in an eye-catching display.
Looking forward to seeing Jack Catterall on the undercard and Jazza Dickens (who should beat Josh Wale comprehensively).

Echoing haz' view. Good little fighter butler, and seems a straight talker in the couple of interviews I've seen. Wish the lad good luck.

Unfortunately this guy is an example of the old premise.....Big fights happen at higher weights.......

Re: Paul Butler
Butler is getting a bit outclassed here.
He's standing off letting Tette punch him at will. He needs to shorten the distance and put him underpressure.
Butlers corner don't seem to be giving him great advice.

Re: Paul Butler
Been watching the whole card save for Matthews which I'm sure wasn't a one sided stinker.
Tete has looked self assured from the start, just hope we don't see a robbery. Or a hippo rectum; bet they're minging!

Re: Paul Butler
Butler was outclassed.
Showed his inexperience. Lots of head movement but no forward movement. To much thinking and not enough "doing".
Hopefully, he'll learn from it.

Re: Paul Butler
Its obvious Tete was a decent fighter, winning away to an unbeaten fighter but, Butler looked a little amateur.
Sadly, Butler had to press and he didn't. Not sure he learnt anything either.

The finishing punch was an absolute peach.
Better than the one Froch put Groves away with.

Re: Paul Butler
Good work wheelchair. I didn't see that one coming - glad I missed the start time for Dickens-Wale as I was going to double Dickens and Butler (and Jazza didn't have an easy time of it either from what I've heard/read).
I'd read that Tete was living with sparring partners in pretty sparse conditions in Jo'berg (all in the same room, sleeping on the floor). I didn't think he'd be in the same nick as Butler as a result - probably just made him harder to beat.
Butler shows again how difficult it is for a fighter to move up a weight and then come back down.

Thats why i thought tete might have a chance coming back down in weight class hardly ever seems to end well

Re: Paul Butler
Jezza could've had an easy time but repeatedly used shoulder barges to make room despite a clear skill deficit and so was docked two points with a few rounds left.
It looked like a subconscious sort of move rather than a malicious one, but the ref was right from my point of view.

"Three pounds" from bantam to Superfly..................Can't see that being a factor..........
Leonard ko 14 Hearns at 147...............After Kalule at 154.......
Norris ko 4 Taylor.............................At 150..............From 154......
Robinson ko 2 Olsen..........................At 160 after losing light heavy shot........
Hearns ko 8 Mark medal at 154..........After Hagler and shuler at middle....
Mugabi ko 1 Jacquot at 154................After Hagler at 160..........
Chavez w12 Whittaker at 142.............Came back to 140 and had success............
Ocasio and Mcrory won cruiser titles after campaigning at heavy..
Just a few..
Ends well plenty of times..............Think people look at Oscar v Manny and May v Alvarez and forget the better fighter was the lighter man..

Happy enough for The Last Born. Hopefully fights Moruti this May/June in a rematch and loses again swiftly enough.

I thought he'd whitewash Wale - who's tough but has no idea really.
