Move of the Year Empty Move of the Year

Post by Prometheus Tue Apr 07, 2015 9:46 am

In this last week, we've seen 3 moves, which have just blown me away.  I guess spoilers will follow if you've not seen these events.

1.  Curb stomp reversed into RKO.  I'm sure we've all seen this.  A week on and one of the most memorable spots from Wrestlemania.  Just when you thought you'd seen an RKO out of everywhere, one out of the curb stomp had me popping.

2.  An assisted leap into Frankensteiner (?).  I don't know how they called this from Lucha Underground, but though it is much more set up than the other two, I still loved it.  I hope this link works, I took it from Lucha Underground's official Twitter account, so they must want it sharing .  (Fast forward to just past the 13 minute mark if all you want to see is that move).

3.  Phoenix splash into Styles Clash.  Just another amazing reversal from New Japan's invasion attack.

Any one got any favourite moves from this year to add to the list?

I would add the multiple suicide dives by the wolves in several matches.

I also like the move that Neville has done where he backflips across the ring.

Double German to J&J and double AA to J&J were both cool as well.

Reigns' spear to Big Show on the outside was crazy, the air-time he got.

Didn't Johnny Mundo do a similar move in one for the first few episodes?

You are practically making me go back and watch old episodes again Adam. I don't think he went all the way to the ring though did he? I think we've had 3 spots from the office now. Those two and the awesomely sick table spot. Once again, LU takes a complete jobber like Angelico who just a month or so was going nowhere and get him over. The list of guys they are getting over is getting really good, I think their only real failure was Chavo, but who's ever got Chavo over?

Move of the Year in spectacular fashion or in terms of context and impact?

I feel that's up to the contributor. So you might nominate Eric Young pile driving Gunner through a table. Or Neville doing his Red Arrow to win the IC belt.

Springboard corkscrew upper cut from the middle rope by WWE's most under-used talent, Cesaro.

John Cena's modified Canadian Destroyer because A) It was John Cena and B) It was two huge dudes pulling it off almost flawlessly.
