The qualifying rounds for the World Championships are now well under way and veteran performers Ken Doherty and Alan McManus moved to within two wins of another appearance at The Crucible. Steve Davis holds a 7-5 advantage over Jamie Cope and there was an early exit for another veteran Anthony Hamilton.

Mark Davis hammers Ken Doherty 10-3 to reach The Crucible. This will be his tenth appearance at The Crucible and has not got further than the Second Round.
Looks like we'll have to listen to lots more tinks in the commentary box.

Ryan Day beats fellow Welshman Jak Jones 10-6 and his bound for The Crucible. This will be Day's tenth appearance at The Crucible having reached the quarters three times.

Matthew Stevens beats Joe Swail 10-5 to return to The Crucible. It will be his 15th trip to The Crucible and has twice been the finalist.

Graeme Dott beats Yu De Lu 10-7 to book his place at The Crucible for the 16th time. The 2006 World Champion makes his return after a years absence away from Sheffield.

Jamie Jones beats Adam Duffy 10-8 and will return to The Crucible for the second time. On his only previous visit to The Crucible in 2012 he lost in the quarter-finals.

Alan McManus beats Mitchell Mann 10-6 to seal another return to The Crucible. It will be his 19th trip to Sheffield having twice reached the semis.

Anthony McGill beats Mark King 10-9 in a nail-biter sealing the win with a century break and will make his debut at The Crucible. That completes a good day for the Scots with three out of the four in the last qualifying round reaching Sheffield. That completes the first half of the final qualifying round matches with the final session this evening.
