Who is buying floyd v manny?
Simple question really who is buying the fight on May 2nd? As a boxing fan who most of the time tries to watch every fight possible on tv I feel guilty for saying this but i won't be buying it.
I feel the undercard is rubbish really although i do really rate lomachenko. Therefore i don't think its worth me paying £20 especially as it will probebly be on half 4/5 AM
So who is buying the May 2nd card?

Yeah I am buying it. I will happily drink beer with mates and watch joe bloggs fight in the build up, I am only concerned about the main event.

I haven't actually heard anything about the undercard, but my stance has softened a little bit from definitely not buying, too probably not.
It's on too late really and i've got the kids birthday party the day before. Will see how I feel on the day (Unless i'm at work, in which case i'm watching it)

The televised undercard fights are what Lomachenko against Rodriguez (who?) and Santa Cruz against Bedak (even bigger who?), it's possibly the worst undercard of a big fight there's been so it's a no for me.

Is Santa Cruz defending the WBC strap against that guy?

I'm not buying it.......
Mother-in-law's 70th on the 30 April and they are having a bash on the Saturday......and I'll be forced to stay over...
Not the sort of fight I want to watch in the morning after the fact !!...
So I'm a little disappointed......

I'm not buying it (don't have SKY), have no friends I like enough to ask or who like me enough to invite me over. Also won't be watching via any other sources so as not to start another f*cking row on here.

I will be, invited the brother round to watch it, you can say whatever you want about five years too late and all that, but this is still two of the two half a dozen fighters in the world at the minute facing each other and so worth watching.

Few of us over for poker, bit of pizza and somehow try to stay up for it. If we get rained off then they'll have to be endless hours of touch rugby (which won't stay touch for long) to pass the time rather than heading to the bar.
Not bothered about the undercard, will have it on in the background to listen in to the "oh my god Mayweather has arrived but is apparently in the karzee - signs of nerves Jim?" drivel being spewed from the SS team.

Try a cinema near you, some screen it for a few quid a head. Don't know where you live WHU, but places like Browns are showing it:

100% i'll be paying.
Regardless of poor undercards, coverage etc i'll pay.
Even if it was £50 and all you got for that was the Channel turning on 5 mins before fight and 5 mins after the end I'd still pay to see the fight.

All pubs are now open 24 hours a day and all town centres are vomit strewn war zones - It says so in the Daily Mail.

Yep. I'm buying absolutely. I forked money out for Bellew vs Cleverly 2, Khan vs Prescott....probably pay for the O2 card as well.....let alone one of the biggest fights in boxing history. Round me brothers few pre fight drinks.....be good to see Lomachenko out again.....don't really care about LSC.......until he fights someone worthy......should be a cracking "event" though.....I can't even imagine how the atmosphere will feel at the MGM on fight night

Hey there Derby I just joined up, cheers.
My issue with Sky is that if you're not a Sky subscriber then you can't buy the fight. That just seems wrong. I'll happily pay the 20 quid for the fight if Sky allowed me to stream the fight, maybe on their Now TV service. But seeing as I don't have Sky it seems I'll be forced to illegally stream it which is worrying because I have no idea what the quality will be like. Probably poor.

You don't have to be a sky subscriber, box office is available on Virgin Media too.

Fairly sad really, the number of people who come on here, are obviously big boxing fans, but won't be watching the biggest fight in years... 5 years too late or not.
Not a pop at those who won't be watching, just a bit of a reflection of the broadcasting of modern sports and boxing in particular. I will be forking out.

Will watch it in a club. Be a good atmosphere. Expect a few Pacman nuts about and a few students explaining how Mayweather and Calzaghe are 2 best fighters ever and that its a shame they avoided each other

I'm watching it definitely but don't know if I'm buying it yet. Always prefer to watch an early hours fight in someone else's house as my children will be asleep in mine. Going to the football that day so hopefully someone offers. Buying it and on my own otherwise.

Re: Who is buying floyd v manny?
I'm not a Virgin Media customer though.
Is there a legal reason why Sky can't offer this fight on Now TV? Even if it was a bit more expensive than the £20 to Sky customers I'd still buy it. Almost feel like calling up Sky about this but I know I'll just end up talking to someone who doesn't have a clue about any of it.

I can only assume it's a bandwidth issue, the same reason why you can't get Box Office online.

No probs bud, think you have to wait a few days as your new.
Am surprised Sky aren't offering this online or through NOW as surely they are going to lose a lot of money that way, be it from people doing 'that which shall not be named' or going round there mates instead (bear in mind it's late at night) it's all lost revenue for them.

I doubt it will be a lot of money, can't imagine too many sports fans don't have Sky or Virgin so it's not something that will factor into Sky's thinking, using Now tv for sport is so cost ineffective.

Everyone's talking about this fight even people who aren't boxing fans, the casual boxing fan couldn't give a damn how old these 2 are they want to see it.
On in my house, already planning the booze. If the undercards crap we'll just put some classic boxing dvd's on till the main event.

I have found the reaction totally underwhelming. Even the most detached of fans realise that this one should have happened years ago. A sh1t load of people will end up watching one way or another, but I dont think anyone is under any illusions.
