There is no need to dust and clean the lines, Isner cleans them serving.

An awkward match this for Murray. Raonic clearly struggling with his foot injury hindering his mobility. Murray having to try to concentrate on his own game here and gets a break of serve in the ninth game. Serving for the set he holds and Murray takes the first set 6-4.

Andy Murray through to the semis of the Madrid Masters beating Milos Raonic 6-4 7-5 and this little unbeaten start to the clay court season goes on. Weird match - Raonic obviously hindered but it made him fire more from the hip. Next up will be either Kei Nishikori or David Ferrer.

Hard to imagine that Nishikori lost to Dan Evans at the U.S. Open a few years ago.

Careers have headed in different directions since then.

Shame about Raonic. I hope he skips Rome if his foot is still troubling him, otherwise he has no chance over five sets.

Nish should clean Murray out tomorrow.

It looks like everyone is busy timing players on the other thread so nobody is watching tennis.

Berdych not broken yet, which is better than the alternative. Not much happening so far.

Berdych playing well. Rafa not horrible but not great, yet it is Berdych struggling to hold.

I am sure Rafa will be better than this at RG - so who can beat him there? Other than Nole, it will be very very hard.

All in all, reasonably smooth sailing for Rafa so far. He was never threatened on his serve, and took TB comfortably.

Definitely the best I have seen Rafa play this season and probably the best he has played since RG last year. Berdych is hanging in there very well so credit to him but you always get that feeling he will come up short in the end.
