Anthony Crolla Press Conference
Looks like Eddie has pulled one out of the bag as talk of Anthony Crolla getting a fight with Darleys Perez for the WBA title will be announced today.
The winner will then have 90 days to face Derry Matthews.

Re: Anthony Crolla Press Conference
Yet again Mr Eddie Hearn pulls a rabbit out of the hat and gets another one of his fighters a shot at a portion of the world title.
Is there anything he can't do?
We should get Derby to get down in front of the great man and kiss his shoes and then hold him around the waist, sobbing that Hearn gives our domestic guy such a great amount.
As for Crolla, just rewards for tackling the sort of scum of society that probably voted labour.

That excuse wouldn't hold up in court and you know it..
Being for that what I thought reading into Eddies 'emotional' tweet the tool.

Re: Anthony Crolla Press Conference
A decent match up on the face of things and the Manchester card is shaping up quite well, still feels it needs a more high profile on the bill but two decent world level fights and two decent domestic fights so can't grumble.
On a slightly less positive note i'm now very confused by what is going on with the WBA lightweight title; if Matthews is interim champion, Perez is the regular then what is Abril now?
It was me that started the 'I think Crolla is retiring' thing on here, the emotional tweet had me assuming it was bad news rather than good.

Yes I hope the sort of scum of society Crolla tackled didn't include any of these Labour supporters Sir Alan Sugar, J K Rowling, Stephen Fry or Professor Stephen Hawkins bunch of no marks.Coxy001 wrote:Yet again Mr Eddie Hearn pulls a rabbit out of the hat and gets another one of his fighters a shot at a portion of the world title.

I believe that he's been stripped completely Hammer, I only caught snippets but from the sounds of it that's what's happened/happening.

He's champion in recess according to the WBA website so in theory the winner of Crolla/Perez has to face Matthews then the winner of that would have to face Abril when he returns from injury. Wish the WBA would just do one to be honest.

According to strongy, Derby already spends a fair portion of his life kneeling in front of eddie kissing something.
Moving swiftly on.... champion in recess? How does that fit in with super champion, diamond, emeritus? Why can't they just strip them and make them mandatory when they're fit, without a random collection of boll*ck titles.
Whichever, great news for crolla. Pleased for the lad.

Re: Anthony Crolla Press Conference
That sounds about right actually Hammer, there was some murmerings about Matthews up next for whoever won, but I never got to tie that one down as alas I was unable to talk to the big man himself.
I never actually got to talk to Eddie as he was busy with the bigger press and I had to get back for the kids.

Really pleased that Crolla will get his title shot after all. A big ask, especially after his injury, but wishing him all the best

I don't think Coyle is going to be with Matchroom much longer, seems to be getting fairly aggravated that a fight with Campbell hasn't been signed yet.

My experience at the Crolla press conference.
He seemed alright today Hammer, seems he enjoys his boxing a lot and as long as the fights keep coming he'll be happy. Really nice bloke. To be fair they were all pretty spot on although I reckon Joe Gallaghers got a stare that could down a bear

Re: Anthony Crolla Press Conference
I like Crolla but I'm not sure I want him to win a belt.........
If Mitchell, Selby, Stephen smith, Degale, Groves and the other muppet that's fighting for a WBO for Warren win we'll be hard pressed to find a Brit that isn't a world champion..
Then the whole scene will look stupid..

Re: Anthony Crolla Press Conference
There are currently as follows;
12 American World Champions
8 Japanese World Champions
8 Mexican World Champions
6 British World Champions
There being that many British world champions isn't the problem, the problem is that there are so many world titles available, out of those 34 only 4 can claim to be the best in their actual division.

Very little I suspect. I still only regard IBF, WBO, WBA 'Super', WBC as world titles.
