Will be interested if Harry Kane remains, didn't Pochettino say he didn't want Kane being called up?
Disappointed that no Liverpool players represented after a couple of years ago there were so many.

Surprised at no Ibe either. I'm guessing Southgate's keeping faith with the players that performed so well in qualifying. Pleased that Afobe's been recognised for his form this season.
Regarding the senior players who could have been picked, I would have possibly taken Wilshere as captain. As he hasn't played a lot of football this season, he'd be relatively fresh. I would hope the added responsibility of the captaincy would have a maturing effect on him.
If I was to pick the best XI out of the squad, it'd be.
Butland
Jenkinson Chambers Stones Garbutt
Ward-Prowse Hughes
Redmond Pritchard
Kane Berahino

I think had Ibe not gotten injured, he'd have had a better shot, as it is he didn't get enough minutes I think to justify being picked.

Final cut has been announced, with Afobe, Bamford, Woodrow and somewhat surprisingly Dier left out of the squad.

Jake Caskey in the squad, really sums up how bad the future looks.

England have an excellent under-21 side, ahead of Italy and Portugal (one expects) and keeping pace with Germany.
Technically speaking, this lot look like the best batch produced for a while.
And we should be expectant of English victory at this tournament.
