This random unnecessary shouting is, I'm almost completely sure, how Djoko gets his help.

Djokovic could pass of as Steve Carrell's son.

Wish there were more sets like this to follow today - good stuff. Hoping it goes 20-18 or something so the Shriekapova unwatchable/unlistenable nonsense is over during that time.

I want to know how he found time to be so good at tennis while also holding down the role of Screech in Saved by the Bell

Anderson's failure on the break points earlier on look significant now though.
And in the time it took to write, Novak swings it his way

If an implosion was going to come in this set you always felt it would come from Anderson and that is what happened there. A gift all done up with a nice pink bow. Djokovic to serve for the match at 6-5 in the fifth set.

Don't know why I never saw the Rocky Fielding resemblance. Dead ringer.

Second serve at 15-30, you have to make a play

2 missed second serves and it's done. A champions response. Harsh for Kevin though

He has a cilic now who has been taken to 2 five sets and a four setter, who is not in perfect form

A very large challenge overcome there for Novak.
I've rarely seen him struggle so much with a player's serve.
Kevin played outstandingly well. He'll be annoyed about those DFs in game 11 but Novak coughed up a DF at a key moment in the first set tiebreak, so these things go both ways.
All things considered, I'd say that is one of Novak's top 5 toughest wins.
I'm very doubtful he can get through Cilic, Wawrinka and Murray/Federer to retain the title but you have to be in it to win it!

I actually think his match against Cilic will be pretty straight forward. After that it becomes more difficult but I would never doubt Djokovic

Re: Wimbledon Day 8 - Will Keys unlock Radwanska? I should Coco.
Gutsy win by Novak! Anderson played at a really high level. He served incredibly well bar the two doubles but even still djokovic had to make a great return off a 1st serve to secure the break. A big win and hopefully he can push on now.
I still think wawrinka is looking very dangerous but Murray with the he support has to be the favourite fir the title, he is in great form too

Re: Wimbledon Day 8 - Will Keys unlock Radwanska? I should Coco.
I wouldn't say Anderson was unlucky. The doubles were almost certainly a result of him putting some extra sauce on his serve. This was because at that stage, I don't think he believed he could hang with Nole in a rally that started from a neutral point. He served well, but the fact that Novak was better than him in basically every other aspect of tennis told, and it made him put too much on his serve... and he lost. Not even getting a second serve return in when two points away from breaking back didn't help. They were hardly Sampras-esque second serves.

Lucky Novak again.
Lets hope he loses in next round, no one wants him on Center Court, let alone wining the W.

Re: Wimbledon Day 8 - Will Keys unlock Radwanska? I should Coco.
Andersons returning was pretty woeful the whole match. Even in the sets he won.
Djokovic was just rolling his second serve in and Anderson wasn't able to keep it in play.
Does this make Djokovic more or less of a favourite for the title?

Yes jahu, lucky Novak. He has reached nearly 25 consecutive grand slam quarter finals by pure fluke.

The Djoko win is pretty bad news for everyone else left. Nole was nowhere near his best. Unpenetrative ground strokes and rather indifferent serving. BUT HE CAME THRU.
Don't think he'll be anything like as bad again. No disrespect to Anderson, who played well.

I don't think it affects his chances either way but it gives us a clearer idea of where his game is: good but not great.Guest82 wrote:Does this make Djokovic more or less of a favourite for the title?
Doesn't look like title-winning form to me but it didn't at this point last year either.

We've seen many times with the best players that they can come out the next match and be on top form.
Djokovic struggled with Cilic last year...also Murray with Verdasco the year he won...

Omg, what is the use of the first 6 rounds of these men/womens slams?
We know Serena's in the final and we know she will easily finish the job. Same with the Irn Bru man

Yes, because Serena reached the final last year as well...oh wait, no she didn't.
Serena came from a set down to beat Azarenka in the best match of the women's draw this Wimbledon....
Re: Wimbledon Day 8 - Will Keys unlock Radwanska? I should Coco.
She wins this slam the year after a bad loss all the time though. This match was better than the Heather/Serena match? Oh wait, no it wasn't..

I've just watched my first 2 minutes of Wimbledon 2day.
Clare Balding has just described Kevin Anderson as possessing a sensational return of serve.
