Re: 6CW Chat v7
QOTD - I have been looking at ways of improving how we present our shows to you all, looking back over PPV's of our past we appear to have made our shows longer and longer over the past year especially, not so much because of the size of the matches which I think in some circumstances makes perfect sense but more the padding around the matches
Previously we had very little segments in PPV's but over time I have started to include more backstage interviews ahead of matches, these don't necessarily add anything more to the story but provide an 'air gap' between matches
What do you guys think about moving back to the previous set up whereby PPV segments that we have are there to add more to a particular story, this will mean less segments and we will have times where matches are followed one after another at times?
One option is to post the promos that have been added for you all to read in between matches?
What do you think?

I prefer reading segments to matches, if i'm honest, so I'd probably skim matches even more if it was just block after block of matches.

I just want to ensure the PPV's are focused on content that adds value to the reader - That way you'd know that any segments that are there can't be missed?

Re: 6CW Chat v7
I am the same really. I usually skim matches but reread them later if I missed certain things. In my head, if i was running a fed, I would do matches like the WWA bullet point style and then save the "proper" match writing to PPV's which makes them special. That's because I know how much time goes into a full show and you certainly need people to help out.
Segment wise I prefer things to be spread out during the course of the two weeks. Some behind the curtain stuff etc. Just keeps things ticking over nicely and gives some new talking points in between shows rather than everything at once.
I always make sure to read all the promos (guys put the effort in doing them so it is only right to read them), so putting them in shows might seem too much like deja vu.
I think the key thing is trying to get a balance right with the people doing the stuff. For instance, I know starting a new job will mean that I won't be able to do as many segments if at all a week. So it is about how you and JJ handle the workload so it doesn't get in the way of your personal lives. I would rather have a smaller show every week, comprising of bullet point matches and a few segments, which then has a further few "behind the scenes" segments fed off during the week. Dunno how others feel about that.....I know the latest Anarchys and PPV's have been great to read. But if most of us skim parts then it is a lot of work that isn't being appreciated.
I just worry sometimes that you guys take a lot on so if something came up, there isn't really a plan B. If we are all honest in what we do in terms of reading promos and the shows, we can then come up with a happy medium. I rather people say they only read the promos involved in their matches and the segments/matches their characters are involved in, rather than oooh and arrring and saying stuff you think people want to hear.

Re: 6CW Chat v7
When I'm reading through the PPV's, I personally prefer the matches being divided up by a small segment or something. I think it helps build the drama, and I don't mind if that's something that was written by one of the fed-heads or a promo taken from the show. I think the more detailed segments should be reserved for the shows to build up to the PPV.

Re: 6CW Chat v7
And in regards to the QOTD... From a personal perspective I really enjoy the 'event' that is a PPV or show, that includes everything from the arrivals, backstage segments, interviews and of course matches (albeit I only ever skim read matches that my guys aren't in). Efedding for me is much more about the storylines and the progression of the angles from my characters to the overal fed storyline arch than it is about the matches them selves

Re: 6CW Chat v7
Reply from Wood to Grace, I think it shows that Wood doesn't really hate Dicey as much as it seems he showed in the last promo...he hates everyone right now haha.
QOTD: I think segments help build the PPV more than the matches...the matches to me are the pay off for the segments. I love reading my guys in a big match but normally skim the rest of the matches and then read back the bigger ones later. As for bullet point matches I'm not sure, it would be easier but would it look as impressive to people wanting to join?

Morning, how are we all?
I think regarding yesterdays QOTD it is all about preference. You read the show/promos how you want to get the enjoyment out of it. The issue is the workload. If it is manageable, then keep it as it is.

Re: 6CW Chat v7
In my opinion matches are fine - We can amend the length etc. dependent on the nature of the match/show
My question is more about segments, when I write a show outline I find myself a lot of the time adding in filler segments to ensure the show has sufficient padding around the matches. With 8/9 match shows this amounts to around 20-25 segments, the majority are purely extra promos, they don't necessarily add anything to the story apart from readying the reader for the impending match - Does this add value as it definitely adds to my workload?

Re: 6CW Chat v7
Personally I would have fewer segments in shows but more stuff in-between shows. Thats where the lull is at the moment.
If you need to have that split in-between matches to set it up, then maybe do a small recap segment. Doesn't have to be an interview, it could be Tim just setting up the history of the match/feud. This are probably easier to do than character segments as you don't have to worry about getting the tone right.
Maybe also use commercial breaks in-between matches and hype the upcoming PPV or main event?

What about a topic where exclusive stuff can be posted? I'm talking real news from the bosses, speculation dirt sheet stuff (from Wrestletalk) and all that sort of stuff...we can give our opinions on it or speculate on it.

Re: 6CW Chat v7
I would be disappointed were segments to be cut in shows. I find them the most interesting, and always think its the best way to have characters represented. You can have matches every week and never feel like anyone cares about your character. But a good segment sets up many things.

Re: 6CW Chat v7
I wouldn't cut all segments but they need to add value - Essentially they need to be worth the effort, if the only thing they convey is a funny line or are obviously just filler then I am questioning the need
You are all our audience so I will always take on your views before coming to a final conclusion
On that note if anyone wants/is able to write some segments for the PPV it would be greatly appreciated - They are just filler as I am doing the juicy storyline ones so in terms of prioritisation they are low but would add padding to the shows

Hi
I'm one of 2 GMs of 6CW alongside JJ Johnson. Great to hear you are wanting to get involved with our fed. First step is character creation and we can take things from there, I'll dig out the character bio sheet for you. In the mean time have a read through some of our shows and if you have any questions just pop it on here and we will be more than happy to answer any queries you might have

We have a large 6WF contingent over here as you may be aware of, I'm sure people will introduce themselves but I was Lex Hart over there which may have been just after your time?
I'm assuming JJ contacted you otherwise it's a freaky coincidence

No I haven't spoken to him, I just had a random google of 6WF earlier and 6CW came up. Coincidence? I remember Lex; he was around when a certain Quade White (aka Quade "One Promo" White) turned up and dissapeared lol!

Yeah 6WF used to be hosted here but they went out alone and we have been on v2 for a few years now. JJ and I have been running things since the start of last year prior to that it was me and Jerome Dubois who is also a former member of WF
Great to have you on board mate, hopefully we have retained much of what you remember fondly from WF with a few added twists

Afternoon everyone
Acer, my man what a turn up. Fantastic to see you pal.
Just a quick announcement that we are putting the PPV back until Bank Holiday Monday. To be honest I need the time to complete my writing (an issue we will be addressing after this show) but also because I think a little more time is needed for promos etc.
