This is Cheating!
First topic message reminder :
This is what Kyrgios did to gain advantage over Wawrinka in their 2nd round match in Montreal
http://thebiglead.com/2015/08/12/nick-kyrgios-to-stan-wawrinka-kokkinakis-banged-your-girlfriend-sorry-to-tell-you-that-mate/
Not only is it cheating but it should in my opinion been punished with a code violation. I believe it should have been judged as a major incident of aggravated behavior and should have resulted in Kyrgios being defaulted. It could be considered verbal abuse, unsportsmanlike behavior and conduct contrary to the integrity of the game. According to the ATP rule book a singularly egregious, a single violation of any of these offenses shall also constitute the player Major Offense of Aggravated Behavior. This carries a penalty of immediate default and can also result in suspension from the ATP tour.
So why was Kyrgios not penalized? If the Umpire didn't hear at the time penalties can be given retrospectively when evidence is discovered. My guess is that the ATP is so worried about selling the game post FeDal they are will even stoop to selling it as a circus Kyrgios is probably being paid more for this sort of behavior (in endorsements) than he is for his tennis skills It is also a way of gaining advantage in matches that doesn't involve tennis skills at all

Poor souls.
Come on, Haddie, be open to debate or being labelled arrogant. Injured parties is a ludicrous way to discuss someone who got a rather immature insult aimed at him. I find the furore around this at best pathetic and at worst completely contrived to attack an unpopular player.
"injured parties" was my expression, and as should be clear from my post I was saying that I thought that things were getting out of hand in terms of the desire to punish Kyrgios, that in tennis terms it seemed like a pretty minor offence, and that the best remedy for Kyrgios's general unpleasant behaviour and his insult was a bout of unpopularity with sponsors/fans/his fellow pro's until such time as he grows up.
I described Stan and his lady as the "injured parties" to make it clear that I was not somehow suggesting that Kyrgios is the wronged party, it was not to emphasise their hurt - that expression was also in a part of the post in which I suggested that Stan's reaction would have been better if he had been shorter and more pithy. You are slightly guilty of taking that expression out of its original context.

Re: This is Cheating!
Classic case of storm in a teacup. If he had said that someone had bang** someonelses wife I would justify all this furore and noise. But actually he said that to someone who had, according to the media, just cheated on his wife. Not a nice story overall, infantile, stupid behaviour ok, nothing more than that though.

Seems very soft for offhand comments in a heated moment to be some course for such furore though? And of course people will come out against him, its the easy position and the best PR position. It does seem very sensitive, especially when "human rights" are brought into things. I'd suggest the lad is well within his human rights to say what he said too.

I would sooner be called arrogant than ignorant
Lets hope that somebody posts your private life on 606 for the world and his wife to chew over.. something tells me you would question there right to do so. But then that would be because it affects you rather than anyone else.

Unfortunately for you it appears that you are both, Haddie.
I think it says more for your character and stance on this that, whilst you think it so appalling, you would happily wish it happen to someone who disagrees with you.

I suggest you have your last comment and we then drop this as we are not going to agree and there is more than enough petty arguing on this forum, but it would be unfair of me to go from poster to mod and just give myself the last word.

Im surprised that you are keeping this childish exchange up to the limit as you are a moderator and all.. you have now called me both ignoranT and arrogant.. did I call you ANYTHING at all. Frankly I should report you for that but you are not worth the effort.
I would repeat that if you were defending your rights to privacy I would support you in that... as I have said it is every persons right to do so
[/THAT makes me both ignorant and arrogant does it.. [b]THEN SO BE IT
Now you have finished hurling personal insults at me might I suggest you go and do what you are supposed to do Moderate. !!!!!!!!
In the meantime ATP

We are going to have to disagree on which one of us was being personal and which one of us was merely reacting. I have kept away from this section during this thread's life because I found your posting style to be confrontational and very passive-aggressive. I will happily PM you right this second and go through each of the posts you have made to me and point out the insults from each of them.
And I would also hasten to add that the moderators here and not here to solely moderate, they are in fact users of this website who also offer their time for moderation. Much like the admins are merely users of the website who are also admins, and even up to Hero and Adam who are not CEO's of some high-traffic media organisation, but merely creators of a website that they themselves enjoy spending their time on.

Look listen everyone please. here are several incidences of passive aggressive, confrontational, and dismissive posting from a number of users, and mods at different times. But both you guys please this is close to an all out fight, lets stop the name calling.
Its hard enough to try and moderate this place when going through a period of bad depression, this is becoming actively upsetting to me right now to see this, plus the other stuff so please just take an hour from each other, just for me ... please

Oh, sorry Barry, I have taken that completely out of context. Still, its made me and Haddie the best of friends so it was all worth it. I do apologise though, I've grabbed at a phrase whilst being too lazy to contextualise

For you, Temp, anything. I am quite sure I crossed the line, sometimes you just need to step over it a little bit to see what the view is like from that side.
In terms of the depression, go for a walk or find an engrossing, character driven book. Both are good for the mind and have helped me in the past.

Re: This is Cheating!
Look temp.
I am not one to disclose personal things, but I say this now. I have spent the last 6 months recovering from a psychotic breakdown and that coupled with a job which stretches my foundations to the very limit. You strive for everyone to get along and when they attempt to push the envelope and have a jab (all innocent I might add) you jump in. There is no need to follow the letter of the law. Don't make yourself rigid. Right now I am not comfortable posting in jest because of being picked up on it or tasked. It makes this place more depressing for me. That's why I find a degree of comfort with BB/HM/JHM/LS and others.
What needs to stop is this ultra-over sensitive offence to anything about anyone's favourite player. That's aimed at all.
If I had my time as mod again I would've been less hands on. Everyone here is grown up. Most conflict peters out once the energy in it has gone.
For your own sanity temp, let it go. If it get's bad, people have the report function. Don't tire yourself out fanning flames which don't have as much as a spark to it.

I appreciate the support lk, I hope youre recovering well.
Its frustrating that most of the overreaction is a mistake, someone assuming someone hates a player and without a voice to listen to the comment, takes it straight out of context

Hey people. Life can be tough and cruel but sport should be a bit of escapism. In the end it is of no importance if Rafa is better than Roger (or even vice verca ). I would hate to think that anyone was genuinely upset by anyone's views on tennis. But there is no excuse for rudeness or nastiness. Sorry to hear of your problems temp and lk.

I think this place probably needs to have me as Head Mod. I wouldn't be in all the time but would set the direction for my minions (applications by pm, please) and step in now and then when necessary. All very light touch, as you'd expect.

Count me in the, "This is much ado about nothing," camp. It was a silly locker room jibe that shouldn't happen, but making a huge deal out of it gives it legs it doesn't deserve. There have been much worse things said on a tennis court.
