R.I.P. Silver
Hello everyone, we have some very sad news...
The user we all know as "silver" has recently passed away. His name was Richard and he was 28 years old. He unfortunately died as a result of an epileptic fit.
May we the moderators extent our sincerest condolences to his friends and family, be assured he was one of the nicest and best posters we've ever had on this section.
RIP buddy

No way that is horrible, he was a terrific poster very knowledgeable, respectful, and he will be greatly missed. So sad, so young, and kind; really feel for his family.

That's such sad news.
Silver/Richard seemed like a lovely guy. One of my favourite posters.
It's strange how you feel like you know someone even when your only contact with them is written words on a forum. I feel shocked by this.
Temp21 - may I ask how you heard this news?

A family member or friend broke the news to Julius via his old account and he informed us. We weren't sure what to do but felt people should know

Very sad news, brought a tear to my eye.
One of the best most knowledgable posters on the site, a really nice guy, and I'm aware away from the forum, he was doing great work in education and teaching.
He will be missed, and I wish the best of luck for his family.

Re: R.I.P. Silver
Terrible news. I'm not one of the most prolific posters on the tennis board but I conversed with Richard over on the boxing board and via PM once or twice, and whenever I posted over here on tennis he was always very welcoming. As others have said, very knowledgeable and a cracking debater on here. Seemed a lovely bloke.
So, so sad. God bless his soul and rest in peace. Wishing his friends and family strength at this time and all the best.

Im so very very shocked.. I cannot say how much. I had several very private conversations with Silver who disccussed some personal issues with me and so I felt I knew him for that I feel privileged..Im so very saddened by this news and especially as he was so very young. I hope his family and friends will accept my sincerest condolences at this very difficult time
RIP ( Silver) ..Richard

Totally crushing news really. He was a special person you could tell about how ingratiating he was to people who even disagreed with him.

That's very sad news. Always seemed a nice balanced guy. And lovely to read HN's post about his interactions with her - what we say about sport is just nonsense really, but how we behave towards other people matters.

Extremely sad news, my condolences to his family and friends.
Silver posted predominantly in Tennis, but I have made this a Global in case members from other sections knew him and missed this.

Shocked and so very sad to hear this news. Life can be so cruel. 28 is no age. Condolences to his family and friends at such a difficult and painful time.

Very sad to hear. Like Chris has already said he occasionally dropped by the boxing boards and was always a likeable and knowledgeable poster to converse with. Condolences to his friends and family.

I echo many of the sentiments. Not a user I crossed paths with but always sad for a young man, one who by all accounts was well mannered, kind and intelligent, to lose his life when I'm sure he had a lot to offer everyone around him.
My condolences to his loved ones.

Must admit I never came across this guy............No one seems to have a bad word to say about him which is revealing in itself..
What a shocking world it is when a kid gets snuffed out like this with his whole life ahead of him...
Shame..

I've only just seen this. How terrible for his family desperately sad.
Nice guy, we never did have a "v2" argument so he must have been a real level headed person to avoid that!

OMG
Terrible terrible news, I don't come here much anymore but this certainly shocked me.
Poor Richard and his family, such a terribly young age and tragic way to die (dying this way for a young adult is terribly rare).
He was a lovely poster and I had many good discussions with him as he had excellent views and a deep understanding of the game from being a tennis coach. I'm sure he's sorely missed by all his students too.
RIP Richard/Silver - and hope you're still playing the game you love up in the stars.
