Question for golfers Empty Question for golfers

Just looking for a bit of feedback - someone asked to have the golf rankings added but it looks horrible in my opinion.

Leave your thoughts here and I will change it back if there is a consensus

I agree - someone asked us to embed it so I thought I would try for you!

There is no other way I can add it in (ie on the side for example).

I could make it smaller (ie top 5 or Top 3)

I get what you are trying to do, but I don't think this is necessary.

We have a poster who posts the top 100 every week - and his thread is always a sticky at the top of the board, so there is absolutely no need for this. The guys who want to discuss the rankings do so on the weekly thread, for those who don't there is no need for it to clog up the screen.

I have added a sub forum at the top, so if you want to see the latest rankings, you just click it.

If no one really wants it there, I can get rid! The alternative is to bring what you see in the sub forum into the main golf page.

I will leave it the way it is for 24 hours to let everyone have their say but I agree that if Kwini is posting the up to date rankings, there seems little point in having it. As I said, it was a request!

Not me, Adam. GPB is the expert.

Good idea though, perhaps you could post the Presidents Cup rankings for McLaren . . . . . ? Run

I agree with what raycastleunited says. GPB updates his thread, gives us mini updates within the tournament thread or elsewhere, which is spot on as far as I am concerned. I have another favourite in my browser if I want to go to the OWGR.

Final question from me.

AS most of you are wanting a "get rid" - I have updated the sub forum to show the world, Europe and USA rankings differently.

If you all still want to get rid, I will do so in the morning.

I like the additions, as has been said it's all a bit superfluous though. Not sure it needs to be got rid of - if we don't want to click it we don't have to. I assume it's a widget that doesn't need maintenance once it's there, so leave it as far as I'm concerned.

I am responsible for this, however I just wanted to know how to embed it into a thread as I thought it would be neat to stick it in a post on GPB's OWGR thread. I had no idea there would be such a backlash. Banish it if you see fit.

It's unobtrusive if it's just shown as a link, and interesting to see the European and US lists. Plus it offers an easy link to the full owgr site.
Why not keep it?

Also it automatically updates every week, so perhaps GPB might find it useful although obviously it isn't as comprehensive as GPB's list.

Prince Dracula used to make a new OWGR thread every week, and he stills keeps up with it better than I do, but unfortunately he doesn't post here anymore.  A lot of my info comes from his tweets although occasionally I have original content.

I didn't see the widget until earlier today, nor did I see this poll until just now.  I really have no preference.

As it is, there is nothing wrong with it. Keep it there, and people can use it if needs be. I do not see what the fuss is personally.

I think most of the early comments were from when it was plastered all over the top of the main golf page.

Super - it's the sub-forum at the top of the main golf page
