WWA Season 9

I know it's only my fourth season (and I've won one) but trading seems to have ended really quickly this season, all deals mainly done in the first day.....

Just verifying that I can draft anyone that's ever had anything to do with Pro Wrestling in the foreigns? so like a celeb who hasn't been in the ring like The Muppets for instance

Guys - How do you feel about speeding the deadlines between the first couple of shows up? Just looking through the calendar now, it looks like the very last show will take us right into Christmas.

Would you like to bring the deadline of the first show forward to Wednesday 1st October and have Week 2 follow 7 days later then move back to the 10 Day period afterwards?

Please let me know what you all think. I just don't want you all writing shows over the holidays, no matter how far away it feels.

I don't mind deadlines being shorter, but shows need to have a word limit for me as voting in a short space of time isn't going to be easy. Bullet point system can (and will) be abused IMO.

Well if we get injuries done over this weekend, it will still be a 10 Day deadline for the first show.

Marky, we have changed things so matches are used in bullet point from. Ideally one line, but it's fine if some bullet points run two or three lines pending it's not every one.

Yeah, I might be travelling at Christmas without wifi access, so it suits me to finish up before then.

WRT length of shows, I think we need a bit of flexibility, e.g.
- first show to set things up should have an extra amount given
- if you have a multiman match or battle royal, then you can't do that in a few bullets. Maybe there can be a trade that you get x lines for the matches per show. Because they may run longer it might be that you only have 4 bouts on a show if you have a battle royal, if you see what I mean.
- maybe PPVs can be longer too

I second this.

Speeding up deadlines is OK for me.

If it is up to 10 bullets per match, with a max of 6 matches for a weekly show.  Then that can be a max of 60 bullets instead.  

So, if I had a max of 60 bullets, I might choose to just run 4 matches and one of them runs 30 bullets, which I think that gives more scope to describe a battle royal, or a fatal four-way or a ladder match, or ironman, etc.  

I think that can help to describe that match, while also keeping the system in check, e.g. not then using 5 lines for a bullet.

At ppv's and main events the 10 bullet point system is flexible however, the ten bullet point system has been around long than most of us have been joining in and we've managed to pull of multi person and battle royal's with only ten bullet points.

As for a shoter deadline for the first couple of weeks, I'm ok with it as long as I know when the deadlines are.

If it works, it works. I'm fine with that.

RE: Deadlines

I'm happy for the deadlines to come forward as long as they're clearly pointed out...I'd suggest getting week one and two injuries out together and maybe today if possible so that people can crack on. I'd also suggest having foreigns open tomorrow as this can help people start writing early etc.

RE: Bulletpoints
I think having a limit of 60 to use is fair and then we can spread them out as we see fit. In the past I've done this myself and I don't think people have had issues. PPV's have no limit on matches and I think people expect PPV's to have slightly longer matches as long as they're not crazy.

I'll be trying to write the shortest shows I've ever written...I remember my first season being super long with shows being 5k words plus haha

Im happy to go with the 60 bullet points for show. Just remember it's 5 lines for a segment

Sorry for the dumb questions as I'm new. Rough guide to how many segments per show.

As many as you want We're trying to cut it down though as last year was more essay reading then anything

Prometheus - That sounds like an excellent idea... I know that sometimes when you need to write a battle royal, ladder match or even just a main-event you really want to get over, it can be hard to pack spots into 10 bullet points.

I will update rules so if you want to have more bullet points in one particular match, you have to compensate by reducing your match card....

Following open discussions, your first show deadline has been brought forward to Wednesday 1st October. Voting / Feedback will also be moved forward to Sunday 4th October.

Week 1 Injuries have been drawn.

Foreign Transfer's will open on Monday. Both Fernando & I deserve the weekend off too. We've been hard at work this week preparing the league as best we can so we will be taking a couple of days rest... We still need to discuss having a Foreign Transfer Window for this season.

I have parts written BUT I'm waiting for a PM and then foreigns before finishing...pretty happy with my basic plans.

When you say it like that then yeah it looks like a bad deal but you're missing out the £15m you also paid...In all honesty I got rid of a team I didn't have any use for and got to bring in a name that I have quite big plans for...I'm setting myself a challenge...I want to make Sin Cara the next big thing!

Probably Roman Raigns and the Primetime Players for Murphy, Lynch, Natalya, Brooke and Tarrell

All my deals were somewhat decent. Best business was bringing in Edge, Lita and Jimmy Havoc in the draft.

Pretty pleased I got Punk in the draft. Really happy to get Galloway in aswell.

My worst bit of business seems to be letting Pentagon go so easily after seeing the crazy deals made for him after that.

For me personally my best deals were getting all of my champions back as well as getting Samoa Joe as he holds my companies MITB style contract. As for non-story driven purchases I'm pretty happy to have the Bucks again which I think makes it three seasons in a row? Tommy End was also quite a nice pick up despite not being a MASSIVE name...oh and of course Sin Cara <3

I think my best bit of business was keeping Kevin Owens as well

Oh another bit was being able to get my top two targets while keeping Finn Balor

I've built a roster of guys who are all pretty similar with a couple of lightweights and a couple super heavyweights. I dont think I could fit Lesnar in anywhere.

I did offer Undertaker and Edge for Angle and Lesnar which is pretty equal, just different styles.

If you could have started season 9 with three wrestlers of your choice who would they have been? I'm not talking the foreign picks we made but out of everyone.

Foreign Transfer Window will open from Noon today. As usual you will all have a limit of 2 bids each day which will be open Monday - Friday. There will be further news concerning when the Foreign Transfer Window will be open and closed this season shortly.

Viper, I'd say Angle, Lesnar and Punk.

My three picks would honestly be Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Johnny Gargano as they are probably the most important names from last season...pretty lucky to get them while keeping my biggest name I got from the original roster draft.

How does the foreign transfer work? Do we just bid on anyone thats not on a roster?
