Japanese wrestlers in WWE
I have been watching a lot of New Japan lately and I have seen a lot of people love it and would like to see some of the stars in WWE but my question is, would WWE know what to do with them? Looking back WWE haven't got a great record with Japanese/Asian looking stars, Taka Michinoku and Kai n Tai, Tajiri, Funaki, Ultimo Dragon, Mr Fugi, Hakushi (They even gave Albert a revamp of this gimmick and it bombed) the list goes on, is it the powers that be that are dropping the ball or are the fans not getting it, I would dread to see what would happen to the likes of Nakamura, Naito or Tanahashi

I think they need to speak perfect English to make a real impact at the top. Hideo Itami seemed to be making the best impact in NXT but then got injured. But ultimately to get over with a very American audience the guys you mentioned needed to "speak American".

The whats the point in getting these guys if they just was Asian/Americans or Hawaiians like they have used in the past, give them a good talker as a manager and let them just get on with it

Re: Japanese wrestlers in WWE
The problem is that any non-North American has to have a gimmick that is a stereotype of their country of origin. You can make the same argument about WWE mis-using lucha wrestlers.
If you add to that that to make it in WWE you need to be able to work a mic at least as well as you work in the ring, that makes it very difficult for a Japanese wrestler to make it.
Although on the other hand, AJ Styles can go to Japan and headline and Michael Elgin got a great reception in the G1.
I used to love Tajiri and Taka in particular back in the day.

Tajiri was probably the best treated, but he was still the Japanese guy.
