will AJ v Whyte be on PPV?
following on from my last thread about ppv, do you think the December clash of Joshua v Whyte will be put on ppv?
Due to the event selling out in just 6 hours I have a horrible feeling Eddie Hearn will put this fight on ppv with a 'stacked' card. If he does its a real shame, it is close to xmas though and maybe that will deter him from going down the ppv route.
Thoughts?

If it is and sells well then Eddie is truly an excellent business man. Has there ever been a PPV fight with two fighters at this stage in their careers before? I can't think of one. Neithet have ever been close to world level yet, no world title or even eliminator in the next few fights for the victor eithet, so if it is then I'm amazed.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't. The British, commonwealth and WBC intercocknbollock title are on the line.

I dont think it would carry headlining a decent ppv on its own but could easily feature as part of a general festive season ppv Matchroom card featuring a load of matchroom fighters lumped together in the sort of fights that wouldnt do a ppv individually but collectively can be flogged as a ppv event. There are quite a few Matchroom fighters Im sure they will be looking to get out again before 2016.

Groves - DeGale was a PPV headline for a British title.
It was never intended to be but it ended up as one.
Sold on the same premise, amateur fight, genuine dislike between them....

Yes, i don't think Degale v Groves would have been otherwise. As a planned headline for PPV this would be quite a bold move.

Its close to Christmas so maybe there will a massive stacked card as a treat for the fans.
Obviously the boxers will need paying and the only way to do that is to make it PPV.

I know Kevin Mitchell and Martin Murray are planned for this card and Bellew is due a fight as well. The problem is none of them are going to be in world title fights and I think the show would need a couple for even Mr Hearn to justify it as PPV. Then again it wouldn't suprise me. I'll say I won't buy it but then will probably give in as there won't be anything else on the TV that night. It doesn't help us fans getting ripped off but I imagine there are plenty like me.

Bellew looks like he will be in a world title fight in December, this is looking like a Hearn style ppv. He is already saying how its going to be 'an obscene card'

Just thinking of upcoming shows.... There will be no Brook,Callum Smith or Lee Selby who can fight. No Quigg or Crolla... I suppose Mitchell in eliminator.... Murray in eliminator.... Bellew in world title challenge is how he will go. Maybe Degales first defence as well as its in London and he's due a fight, if Mr Haymon allows. Ryan vs Hibbert 4 for a bit of domestic action? Who knows but it will need to be announced soon only 12 weeks away.

I enjoyed Bellew getting outclassed by Stevenson...
Might be tempted to pay to see him get stopped again.

Trouble is if he did find that 'one punch' we would never hear the end of it or how he did it for his wife and three kids..

Re: will AJ v Whyte be on PPV?
Ridiculous if this is PPV and shows how Sky and boxing are going if it is.
I understand the back story to hype the fight but AJ has stepped up about 5 levels since whilst Whyte hasn't.
I'll be amazed if Whyte isn't ko'd within 3 rounds.

That's not a bad guess at all. I would be interested in the Joshua, Mitchell, Bellew and Ryan fights but no way it's PPV.
I noticed today Quigg hasn't been announced for the Crolla vs Perez rematch so maybe we can look forward to him vs bum as well.

I think they will get Quigg a half decent opponent and make it PPV with Joshua. That's probably what the delay in announcing it is

If Joshua beats Whyte, who is likely to be his next opponent? Would Chisora be an option? Or is that a step too far too soon?

Re: will AJ v Whyte be on PPV?
I think Joshua beats Chisora easy, his best days are behind him. Hearn has mentioned Teper for the European in March, thats a better fight i feel. Then he is British and Euro champ if it goes to plan. A couple of gatekeeperish world fights and then a world title shot early 2017.

Re: will AJ v Whyte be on PPV?
Problem is, loads of the gatekeeper guys you might like to see him in with are coming off a loss so unlikely to take the fight - Pulev, Jennings, Stiverne.
Teper would be good. Tony Thompson also as he's a decent size and will give it a real go (plus there's the giant killer/Olympian vanquisher tag).
Chagaev is fighting again.........

Re: will AJ v Whyte be on PPV?
Twitter are reporting ITV are in the market for the Fury fight. Would make sense to let this one go from Sky's perspective. With the quality of K bros undercards they cannot justify the PPV tag. Suspect they and Hearn would prefer to load the card for Joshua and do that on PPV. Can't imagine they would do two PPV's, one headlined by two relative novices and the other with basically nothing on the undercard and a main eventer who regularly turns in sleep inducing performances.

Bellew will fight for a title. Aj will KO Whyte in 2 rounds. Pay for it if you want, or, don't if you don't want.

Seems like Quigg against McDonnell is being lined up for this card.
Perfect "all British world title fight" fodder.

How can you go from Donaire to McDonnell?!? No offense, but Donaire would gobble Jamie up for breakfast in 6.
Quigg is really starting to become a joke now....like quite a lot of Hearns fighters.
Real damn shame because after Martinez I though Quigg would step it up now and get in some good scraps see what he has got. .boy oh boy.
