Samoa v USA
SAMOA v UNITED STATES
20 September 2015
KO: 12:00
Brighton Community Stadium, Brighton
Referee: George Clancy (Ireland)
Touch judges: Jaco Peyper (South Africa) Federico Anselmi (Argentina)
Television match official: Graham Hughes (England)
Teams:

Well lets see how this one goes.
I see USA have started with Eric Fry at 1. Well theres a prop who cant scrummage. I know because he plays for us (Falcons) and cant Scrum!
And I still cant believe they chose to take Alex Tuilagi over SInotti!
Having watched them both this season..thats a ludicrous decision.

Re: Samoa v USA
Yeah.
Fry struggling already in the scrum
Would be better moving to Flanker.

Clancy is a pratt. There was nothing in either of those 'blockages' and so the game stops for 5 mins. Let the game flow!

Re: Samoa v USA
He's still to quick on the whistle, play the advantage please.
The greater international experience is certainly aiding the Samoans.
Its a big pitch and you would think that some pace would have the advantage out wide.

Clancy is the worst ref in the professional game, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a rugby field. He's can't referee a scrummage to save his life.

I have never really been a huge fan of Clancy as a ref but he is not the worst ref out there.
Good close game this.

Re: Samoa v USA
Samoa have been comfortably better controlling the game but I feel that USA can cause more damage if they get their back three and Manoa more involved.

Please play the advantage. The us are going forward 10 metres from the line and he blows up! Why?

I'm doing my nut here....no one is off their feet, there is no one from Samoa in the ruck and he gives pen to Samoa?

Samoa are certainly getting the rub of the green with the decisions.

I came on here to double check if I was crazy for thinking the ref is whistle happy. Didnt realise he has such a reputation already.
Just awful.

Re: Samoa v USA
Its only a choke tackle if the ball stays off the ground. The ball was clearly on the ground then with a Samoan on the wrong side blocking delivery... Answer, Samoa scrum...

Scotland don't really have much to worry about either SA and Samoa based on current form!
Oh and Ngenywa is one greedy ball hogger - again not passing the ball with a man outside him.

Ngwenya runs. That's it. I think playing in French div 2 hadn't helped as it's probably enough there but you need a more rounded game at a higher level

Not a thriller by any means ! More afraid of Japan than these 2 based on that but every day is different

Re: Samoa v USA
Just got back from Brighton Stadium. It was a terrific crowd, eagerly supporting both sides.
The American side seemed hung up in the kicking uber alles technique. Odd since they have good runners. Their tries were from counter attacks and showed real skill. They lost 3 lineouts for not straight and one simply stolen, which showed their wobbles against Australia are a real problem. They need better props, Eric Fry was terrible.
Samoa were generally betteracross the park. Overpowered the Americans.
Agree with the comments above about Clancy. Was pretty poor.
