This should be one for fans of a good scrum!

Anyone know what Doyle's first language is. Never sounds to be English
Anyway not too long to kick off in the game no-one wants to talk about.

Very important game for both Irish and French onlookers.

Re: Argentina vs Georgia, 25th September
Looking forward to this one. Georgia won well the other day and I feel they could give Argentina a good game. Can remember sitting up and watching these two teams play each other in the last World Cup and Georgia played well against them for the first 60 odd minutes. Will be interesting to see how far they have come since.
That said Argentina played well against New Zealand on Sunday so may prove to be too good for them.

I think the difference will be the backs. Lots of grunt in the forwards but which side will have something sharp in the backs to exploit any gains in the middle.

Winning is winning under the rules but that didn't look nice. Whatever anyone thinks of drop goals in general, surely there should be a rule against ones taken so close.... a team could get quite a lead going for a bunch of those.

Argentina are looking sharp so far. They have some classy backs and the forward pack seem to have some skill as well.

A goodish Pro12 game so far......
...and an Irish ref too. Feels like PR'O12 home.

Georgia backing up their very good performance against Tonga so far, physical and organised. Only need to watch the discipline, especially the high tackles.

Surprised teams don't do that. Just keep taking the 3 points throughout the game.SecretFly wrote:Winning is winning under the rules but that didn't look nice. Seriously when are they going to promote Georgia to the 6N?

The 7N?
But seriously, I think Italy would give the Georgians a harder game than Argentina are at present.

Georgia are doing what theyre good at, keeping things simple and brutal...
Argentina just getting drawn into the battle, and not looking at how to win the war right now.
Georgia look stubborn, but your just waiting for Argentina to take it up a gear out in the wider channels.

How many games do you see where the points scoring is dominated by drop goals? Until that happens regularly there is no reason to adjust the rules

The Italian that showed up against France without Parisse? Your having a laugh.
Worthy to note there are only Georgian in their team, no messing around with Fijians or Saffas unlike other nations

Thanks for that, lost. My point stands.... that ain't rugby that happened at the beginning...but it was legal, and in theory, a team could kick themselves ahead or back into a game from such distances.
I'd personally just outlaw drop goals completely. But you're lucky - I don't write the rules

Worst 40 minutes I have seen from a Ref in the WC so far.

I'm not having a laugh. You all seem to be impressed by Argentina. I just don't buy it yet in this WC. Maybe a second half will change my mind.

Not that it matterd but how the hell was the grounding "inconclusive"
As to Gorgodze on first view I thought he was fine, but on replay he is a touch late and lying on the player.

Haha Creevy was lying on the Georgian player but he gets the penalty, worst refereeing i have seen in this world cup so far.

Nonsense Vince, its only the PrO'12 refs that give poor performances. The refs in the other leagues are all fantastic remember?

Yeah this is a great counter example against Chunky's theories

The guy is still Irish.... oh and Owens on the sideline?
So Chunky is spot on on the detail of his theory. Irish refs and Owens.... case proven.

The argentine 8 was completely out when he kicked that! Come on TMO, the whole point of you ruining the game is to make the correct calls.

Argentina look really good. Their backline play amongst other things has improved a lot since joining the RC. Some really exciting backs in that backline, it's almost like watching the France of old.

No. The commentator is not a BT guy and Geordan has never done TV over here before.

Thanks Tiger. I was just wondering about the other guy. I've picked up that this is Geordan's first (and last if he doesn't open up a little more) gig.

We'd be happy to let you have JPD - plus a few others - I certainly don't think we have all fantastic refs in the AP.

I thought Georgia had some good players. I know at least two of them play in France, but how about the rest?

Pretty much all of them play in France, just most below T14.

All the front rowers play in the top 14 and great props like Kakovin and Kubriashvilli are left out of the 23 altogether..
