Fantasy 4 Ball
The only rule is they must be active golfers...
i.e. a pro golfer or anybody else who actively plays or for instance actors or sports people who play golf to a decent level (would have a handicap).
Also pick the course!
Here's mine:
Me
The hilarious Ben Crane (as long a we make a video before/after/during the round and to make the experience last as long as possible!)
Bubba Watson (Just to see what's can possibly be done with a golf ball and a pink shaft)
Jiminez (to pick the post round wine)
Course: Royal Porthcawl. Best course i've played. Simple.
Let have yours

Re: Fantasy 4 Ball
Me and Darren Clarke for the banter, and I can then complain about the Stubbert DC shoes and ask him why he doesn't wear them. Maybe if he did he'd get the weight off quicker.
Playing against Michelle Wei and Di Stewart. Hoping for a long round

Re: Fantasy 4 Ball
Can i pick my best foursome that'd be so much fun
But in spirit of this thread active playing golfers hmmmm..
Steve Stricker (to pick up tips on his awesome wedge play and putting)
Darren Clarke (be great for banter and a post round beer)
Charlie Wi (Just always seems to play with a smile)
(If Any of the above not available i'd gladly let DiDo play around with me)
Course: I'd go for shinnecock hills, best course i've had the priviledge to knock it round at

Jiminez and Clarke was a tough call for the beer and banter pick, but ultimately came down to the who wears the best shoes, Jiminez wins hands down!
Where would you play Doc?

Re: Fantasy 4 Ball
for the sheer craic I'd love to pair up with IJP and take on Mickleson and Watson. With me getting my handicap and them all on +4.
If I was misunderstood and Tom turned up instead of Bubba I wouldn't mind one bit.
For the venue it would be a close call between Royal Dornoch, Pebble Beach & Kapalua

Hmm
Sean Connery
Harvey Penick
Tony Jacklin
Sean could sign us all in at Marbella, but if he has resigned his membership then Asian Course La Cala.
Laughs, good stories, food and drink.

No kidding in 1964 I talked to him for about 20 minutes and did not have a clue who he was [he was not wearing his syrup]

Re: Fantasy 4 Ball
First on my list would be Matteo Manaserro, the kid is going to be a world superstar in a few years and he comes across as such a likeable young man.
Next up, Faldo. Not everyone's cup of tea but always been a hero of mine. For a bit of glamour, Di Stewart.
I think I'd stage this match at Royal County Down, probably the best course I've played to date.

Re: Fantasy 4 Ball
They do say that true fame is when you are recognised by just one name.
Well I know Me and I know Mac, but I've no idea who the other two are. However, if Mac is willing to vouch for them, then they must be OK.

He just seemed like an ordinary guy.
He was starting to thin then, I remember the hullabaloo when it was found out that James Bond wore a wig.

Re: Fantasy 4 Ball
Been reading these old posts, I thought I would bring this back to the populous....
Mine would have to be:
Me, for the comedy golf element.
Bruce Forsyth, would love to listen to his stories..
Colin Montgomerie, just to say I have played with a true golf legend..
Alice Cooper, stories and lifestyle would be something else!
Course would have to be Augusta.
ps...Obviously, I would replace any of these with Seve if I was allowed! Pure golfing genius, and genuinely great guy.

Re: Fantasy 4 Ball
Thin ice there Mac,
I'll bring Adam Scott, Sam Snead and Geoffrey Cornish (he may be about 96 but he designed my favourite course).
Steve Williams as forecaddie.

Sir Nick - as best british golfer ever and my boyhood hero.
Lee Trevino - Plenty of one liners and imaginative golf shots.
Lee Westwood - Genuinely nice guy and great player.

Sounds like a hell of a 4ball.... If I were on the course there which I wouldn't be not a fan of TOC, i'd need matchsticks to keep my eyes open. Hardly any (if any) personality in that 4ball...

Re: Fantasy 4 Ball
AS this is a fantasy then I should maybe have chosen a course I would not otherwise get to play. So i will change the course to crystal downs, i know doak plays there often so would have some great insight.
If we are having caddies then they would be
Obama
Kwini
Brian cox
And I am carrying my own bag.
Oh and Emma Watson and Gwyneth Paltrow are pushing the beer cart.

Re: Fantasy 4 Ball
If were including caddies:
Steve Williams as he obviously knows how to be a front runner and have the best week of his life, would not be invited.....
The caddies would be:
Megan Fox - For me to drool over
Lily Allen - to have a beer with and some fun afterwards
the 20year old lass that works for one of my clients - mmmmmm,
My Caddie would be deaf and dumb guy, that cannot sign or read or write so that he cannot inform mrs mav of what i got upto with the other caddies whilst looking for balls in the bushes
