Ben Youngs looks like he's enjoying playing in a Mauger attack. Great sniping.
Another turnover from O'Connor at the bottom of that mass of bodies.

Odd that despite the score, I don't think Owen Wuilliams is having a very good game.

I think Owen Williams is having an ok game. He's not doing much wrong but I'd like to see him control territory a little better and link a little better with the forwards as well as the backs. His passing has been good with some lovely long passes that have drifted a touch high at times. At 22 I'm not surprised he isn't controlling the game perfectly.

Harrison always plays well.
Our defence has been up and down. When they've broken in behind we've been slow to reorganise and line speed has not been good enough.
In attack we need to start looking for the drop goal when momentum is leaving our attack.

Good win. Leicester seemed to me to still have the ability to ramp it up more. Yes, they slowed a bit at the end, but for a while in the second half they seemed just a step away from another try, or more. As a Saints fan, it is always a double edged sword. Happy to see Leicester with the ability to go off in Europe, but makes me nervouls when we play each other.

Good continuation of our improvement this season. We're building nicely with three wins out of four in the AP and now a bonus point win to start the Champions Cup. Compared to this time last season...

I'm afraid what is happening in Paris seems to be even more serious than that nathan, and it is definitely not a joke.
Reports of grenades thrown at the Stade de France, bomb in a bar near the stadium, several men with assault rifles have opened fire on a restaurant and a hostage situation unfolding in a concert hall. Scenes of absolute horror and destruction with reports of dead bodies in the street.

Coordinated terrorist attack by the sounds of it. Thoughts are with the families of the French victims and hostages. Horrible events.

Re: Champions Cup Pool 4: Leicester Tigers v Stade Francais, 13 November
Every generation has its conflicts but most generations have leaders that have the guts to ask big questions and create momentum to make big changes.
Right now the World is being led by too many grey business men in suits who only think economy, jobs, banks and global warming. We need more real political morally driven Leaders who think and act big. We need the Middle East sorted! It goes on and on and on and on.... intransigence, no real negotiations, bluff negotiations, long-finger negotiations designed to constantly put off the major decisions needed to give that region f**king Hope!
And who has moved into the vacuum? Gangster organisations controlling large areas of the region under terror conditions (using weaponry mostly made in western nations)... and allowed do so because too many Nations that could make a difference are standing off and keeping their distance. But there IS no distance as we've found out time and time again with all the terror acts that have taken place around the world.
Nations in that region must be forced to a negotiating table with real proposals on the table to ease the decades and decades of tension.... and forced into real executable agreements not allowed bluff through years and years of hollow chit chat.... as local politicians use the anger of pain and war to keep getting re-elected

It is political and people are dying in France because of regional politics being generally ignored by countries that only think of trade fairs, VW exhaust levels, deficits, more housing for young families and fracking v windpower.....
It is political. But that's my bit done on this thread about it.

I get your feelings. Sometimes we need to vent, and we are all friends here. So no worries.SecretFly wrote:It is political and people are dying in France because of regional politics being generally ignored by countries that only think of trade fairs, VW exhaust levels, deficits, more housing for young families and fracking v windpower.....

But people have died. For the religious, how about a prayer. For the rest of us, just let our hearts skip a beat for those poor people. ....

Just got home, and listening to events unfolding in Paris as I drove makes me embarrassed to ask this, but was Lacey as poor as he seemed at the ground? Not one sided but just utterly clueless.

Lacey didn't seem poor but seemed to me to be going through the motions. Was a little kind to Leicester, but Tigers were overall the better team, at times significantly so. From my perspective I would doubt SF was ever going to win. Tigers earned their bonus point. Watching the second half I thought Leicester had an extra gear they never used.LondonTiger wrote:Just got home, and listening to events unfolding in Paris as I drove makes me embarrassed to ask this, but was Lacey as poor as he seemed at the ground? For me, he was poor to both teams. He's a rubbish ref.
Forward passes missed in the lead up to SF tries, o'conner should of been pinged as the ruck beat him

Got to say; all credit to Tigers, SF looked to be cruising to the win midway through the first half but then didn't want to scrap for it and the better side won and won well, Lacey had a shocker another ref may well have disallowed two Tigers tries but they would still have won.

Tried not to bash the ref but pointed out he was wrong. BOD and Kay aren't really commentators to make a fuss.

After some of the bilge I have sat through in the last couple of years, last seasons home win v Wasps most prominent to mind, that was jolly good fun last night.
Best wishes go out to the Stade team, hope they found all their loved ones safe at home today.

It's easier to put up with the handling mistakes when we're trying to play positive rugby. Watching the knock ons after seven phases of one out up the jumper rugby was painfully bad.

Midi Olympique the French paper.
Nice to see Tom Youngs get some praise. I actually think he's played better than that this season. There's certainly no world cup hangover with him.

Watched the game last night and already knew the score so could player watch a bit more.
Thought Tigers were well worth the win, had a huge amount of possession and pretty much controlled the game from the start to finish.
Williams had a poor game, it was his decision making that meant you'd go through 10+ phases laterally and make little headway before knocking on. His long passing and the backlines drift in attack against the Stade D just didn't work and put yourselves under pressure.
Otherwise very good though, great to see an English side look to positive and up for out scoring the opposition rather then just trying to concede less. Although the pen kick at the end was odd
Stade showed you guys how to convert chances to points in some ways, just about every foray into your 22 they scored (all 3 of them).

Don't think i agree with you fully on Williams, didnt think he was outstanding but didn't think he was poor. I watched some of the breaks he made on Rugby Tonight (euro)
