Aaaand that was shocking. Never mind then, focus on the PRO12 lads. Fed up of this.

Starting to feel like last year was Glasgow's high water mark. Terrible set piece. Gray has to try and take control of this.

Can't get a live feed here, only text updates.
Are we just playing like a bunch of donkeys. The front row is the only thing which is different from last season, so presumably that's the problem. We knew that letting Euan Murray retire and Jon Welsh leave for the Jeff was risky, and so it seems to be proving.

Well, we know that Reid is better than Grant and this is the sort of game where young Fagerson will learn a lot if he is asked to come on and shore this up.
This was always a possibility with this Saints pack, though. I think that having Peterson instead of Swinson and Favaro instead of Wilson on the bench would have been a smarter move. We need the increased bulk that each of these guys would have brought.

It's certainly not pretty. I have had cars who don't reverse as quickly as our scrum. Hate to say this, but we will be lucky to get a LBP.

Poor, poor first half from Glasgow. It's not just the scrums, we are just playing badly across the park. Missed tackles, poor kicking and an inability to hold onto the ball.
Need a much better 2nsd half or the European season ends here!

Nah, yellow cards are reserved for those circumstances where the offending team is clearly being punished enough, not offences that cynically kill of the game ...

It's certainly becoming the worst weekend in living memory for our Pro12 teams competing in Europe. It will get a lot worse tomorrow when Clermont spank the Ospreys. What is going on?

Again, forward passes / offside kicks etc all reserved for special circumstances that shall not be known to the teams or public
In all fairness we are playing like plebs and deserve to be behind. Northampton have done their homework and are storming this.

Northampton very cynical in the red zone, one yellow card to show for it, but the ref seems fine with just awarding the penalties and not giving any further warnings. Not very happy about that tbh

On a wider note, anyone else's pet hate when someone wants to quick take and the ref just doesn't let them? Right on 5m line there, why on earth not???

What a disappointing performance. Always playing catch up and nothing going our way at all.
Well done Saints, played a smart game and took chances well. I hope we can play better in the return leg

Saints were far too strong for us up front. Glasgow looked like they had met in the car park 5 minutes before the game. The only highlight was we seemed to achieve parity in the scrums when shrek and fargerson came on. I also thought Hart played well although I that point I had started cooking dinner.

I don't understand why Glasgow spurned the kicks for goal - they would have secured a bonus point and at the very least kept the game alive in the last 5 minutes.
Russell had a bit of a mare but that's all part of the learning curve.

GC, who is the genius that signed Puafisi? The guy is utterly useless and it was all there to see when he was scrummaging on his arse against Dickinson with Gloucester.
Glasgow should really have kept DeKlerc, regardless of what happened (no big deal imo..), he was at the end of the day Glasgow best tighthead by some margin. Cusack? Don't make me laugh the poor lad can't be relied upon, and even when fit he showed he doesn't really cut the mustard anymore with the new rules.
Heads should be rolling at Glasgow for overlooking the number 3 position, arguably the most important one in rugby union.

Looking at the stats Glasgow should have won that - by far and away leading territy possession and M runand made a lot more ground and breaks. Too many mistakes tho and giving away soft tries so in the end Saints deserved to win simply by not making the mistakes so much at such critical times

Re: Champions Cup Pool 3: Glasgow Warriors v Northampton Saints, 21 November
I don't think that the 2 week break helped us - looked from what I saw of the second half that we were completely lacking in any sort of precision and execution. The whole team looked out of sorts and nobody looked sharp.
Signing Puafisi always seemed to be a bit of an afterthought after De Klerk went. Just a shame that tighthead is so difficult to get quality people although it does seem as though the Warriors staff dropped the ball on cover in this position generally. Letting Brian Mujati sign for Sale seemed very silly when someone of that quality became available. Nobody at the Cherries really shed any tears when Puafisi left, something that should have raised red flags in its own right. Young Zander is a massive prospect but this is really his first complete pro season and he's going to need time.

Jacobie Adriaanse left the Scarlets too and is a decent scrummager and was important in Samson Lee 1st year as a pro at the Scarlets, would have been a good mentor for Zander. Manasa Saulo is still playing in Romania untill the end of the season, he shored up succesfully the usually weak Fijian scrum and with Yanu and Nakarawa already there he would have been a great signing. Though banned until december and signed by Toulouse for next season.
There were some options available but Glasgow picked the worst possible one and there is no excuse in that.

John Welsh would be a much better option too but he was let go.
To think what Glasgow could achieve if they had Edinburgh's front row!

I have a feeling with Jon Welsh that he wanted a change as he had never really pin down the starting shirt here and with De klerk coming into the form he was at the tail end of last season, he was still not going to.
De Klerk really did let us down and once he had to go, and I think that he did have to go, we were more than a bit stuffed.
Trying to pick up a good TH at that stay of the season was always going to be near impossible, remember we needed him before the WC was over.

And Geoff Cross, Moray Low..
Don't let players go if you don't have suitable options lined up.
Yeah Glasgow only wish they had the Edinburgh scrum (and pack while you are at it). At least the 1872 should be fun for Edinburgh fans

Unless by some miracle Big Mike rediscovers his form of old, this has really got to be our main priority for next season. It is a lot to rely on Fargerson at his tender years.

Even with DeKlerk still around i still think Glasgow needed another tighthead.
Don't bring Javan Sebastian please, he couldn't quite make it at the Scarlets why would he make it at Glasgow?
