Flanagan v Mathews 13th Feb 2016 for WBO Lightweight Title
Afternoon all,
Terry Flanagan's next defence has been announced to be against Derry Mathews on 13th Feb 2016 for the WBO Lightweight Title.
You would expect a win for Flanagan although Mathews has pulled off shocks before when you think his days are numbered. As Flanagan has picked up a few stoppage wins of late I would expect him to win by KO mid rounds are a couple of awkward moments.
Basically a keep busy fight with a decent payday with it being a domestic match up and all.
Cheers

Agree with you Spence, think it will be amid round stoppage for Flanagan and an easy defence (although i'm sure many have said that before.)
Shan't complain too much (Truss will do enough of that , just kidding big guy) but if it was under Matchroom wouldn't be surprised to see it PPV

Good fight this - bit of Liverpool-Manchester rivalry going on.
Might try to attend - is it Liverpool?

Yes haz echo arena. Always a good place for boxing. They usually have decent cards on at the echo so they should be announcing more soon.

A decent fight and Matthews as ever is a very live underdog but it makes me feel more and more sorry for Mitchell; he had Linares to contend with whilst the others have had lets be honest sub par opponents. This is where I will agree with Truss somewhat about belts being devalued, when the best Lightweight in the country (baring maybe Campbell) doesn't hold a world title but three lesser domestic rivals do is scandalous.

Mitchell isn't the best lightweight in Britain - Flanagan's top man at the minute. I'd take him over KM.

Caught Smigga vs Quigley there years ago. They were selling "scouse pasties" and someone stuck one on a copper at ringside (at which point Frank Warren left).
