Not sure I agree with you Chunky, Glasgow well and truly stuffed up against Cardiff last year and could easily fecc it up tomorrow. No disrespect meant. Obviously we should be looking at 5 points given your "injuries" but life's never that simple is it?

What has Salmond done now?
I see that other arch imperialist and saviour of the union has swallowed what remaining principles, socialist or otherwise, if indeed he ever had any to swallow, and taken the Morgan Stanley shilling. How appropriate for the protector of the establishment to go to serial rate fixers, sex discriminators and customer cheaters like them. Step forward that hero of Edinburgh - Alastair 'Eyebrows' Darling. A statue in The Mound surely in the offing?
Is this in contrast to Alex Salmond, who spent 7 years as an oil & gas specialist for RBS. Do I really need to tell you how many lives RBS has destroyed?
Nicola Sturgeon was of course a private practice lawyer before becoming a socialist (or perhaps the two are not mutually exclusive....), although I'm sure she wasn't charging her clients hourly rates and seeking to make profit from the business. I know you love lawyers, so I won't dwell on the point.
My own opinion is that I don't give two hoots what public servants do either before and after they serve. I only care about their contribution and their capabilities. In that regard, my honest assessment of the three politicians above is that they are all extremely competent and talented politicians (particularly Sturgeon). My views are clearly more aligned to Mr Darling on the matter of independence, but that aside I have common ground with all three as it happens.

Nope. I frequently buy a common champagne, say a Moet, when I need something to spray in celebration. One can hardly be expected to drink that stuff.

Why does Townsend keep picking Grant and Puafisi when they regularly get their arses handed to them in the scrums?
I very much hope he picks them in two week!

What about starting Jerry and sticking Alex Allan on the bench? I assume Grant is out the door in June or will take a big pay cut.

Re: Champions Cup Pool 3: Glasgow Warriors v Scarlets, 12 December
I agree with you re Gordy Reid but he is out with a neck injury. Fagerson is better as impact as his scrummaging needs some work. Cusack out with a rib injury and D'Arcy Rae is far from the finished article. Alex Allan is good round the park as is Jerry Yaya but again the scrum is a problem So we are down to Grant and Puafisi with young James Malcolm our 18 yr old hooker - who looks pretty useful so far and can throw. Think we may be conceding the scrum to you in 2 weeks but not the game. No 10 points from both games minimum !

That's a decent Glasgow team, front row aside. Jonny Gray and Stuart Hogg are going to need to rest over the 1872 games in my humble opinion.....

Good effort ! Give you 6/10 for trying although Hoggy has failed to sparkle so far . The one you really have to fear is Big Naka - a world 15 player - who seems to have set out on a 1 man mission to destroy every single rugby team he comes up against - including the current World Champs.

That picture of a pie looks a good deal tastier than that Glasgow front row.
Really quite concerned about that.
And Cusack is injured again. You can only imagine my surprise...

A "rib injury" apparently which I find hard to believe as those ribs are pretty well protected, unless they mean that he choked on some ribs during an eating competition with Duncan Weir.

That's not fair. Jim's poetry is highly original, and still better than Janet Jackson when she tried to rhyme 'Club' with 'Love'.funnyExiledScot wrote:He is to the world of inside centres what I suspect Jimbo is to the world of poetry....

Bubbles
I once had a love like sparkling champagne
That tickled my senses and teased my brain
without her bubbles my life is as plain
as mud without puddles and sky without rain.
Oh Lord, let me be drunk again.
No Fes, this is not a love song to Michael Jackson's monkey.

"Walk the plank!" says Captain Jim.
"But Captain Jim, I cannot swim."
"Then you must steer us trough the gale!"
"But Captain Jim, I cannot sail."
"Then down with the galley slaves you go!"
"But Captain Jim I cannot row."
"Then you must be a pirate's clerk!"
"But Captain Jim, I cannot work."
"Then a pirate captain you must be."
"Thank you Jim, says Captain Me."
Don't worry, that's not one of mine. It's far too good.

FES, it's funny you should ask. My carol performance was last Saturday, just as Storm Desmond was hitting Newcastle city centre. If it's possible to hate the work of John Rutter more than I currently do, I'd be interested to hear it.

It's the second verse of his "We wish you a merry Christmas", which came at the end of a two-hour concert, which finishes with "Now bring us some figgy puddings... now bring us some figgy puddings..." on and on for another three minutes.
Well f**k you, Rutter, I'm hungry and I want to go home.

Can you imagine if an Edinburgh fan was complaining about having to sing John Rutter at his Christmas choir concert? The great unwashed would have a field day!

Absolutely. Spouting poetry, singing in choirs and supporting a team with a dodgy front row.

Either Russell has slipped post-World Cup, or wee Meatball's form has skyrocketed so much that the Racing 92 management are regretting signing the unknown D Carter of Canterbury instead of D Weir of Rutherglen!
