Nah I wont be buying it. Its a real pity these kind of fights are being pitched at ppv now as I would tune in had it not been on ppv.

I think the same, these are the kind of fights that should be on SS1 attracting new fans to the sport, anybody seen AJ advertising magically 'more tickets have become avaliable" suddenly for saturday. He really is well in with Stub Hub

Re: Who is buying Saturday's PPV
Why would anyone buy it?
Joshua has had 14 fights and beat nobody.
Whyte has had 16 and beat nobody.
Eubank Jr is simply a name
Nobody knows Spike Sullivan
15 quid? I'll stick to Boxnation where I pay a tenner and watch Alvarez Cotto Mayweather Pacquiao Crawford Jacobs Quillin
Unreal

Bet it does good numbers sadly because of AJ's name and Sky's hype

I won't be buying it. Hasn't even crossed my mind. The card just doesn't do anything for me.
Sure it will do well though with the amount of people on social media that think Joshua is the second coming.

No effing chance I'd buy it myself but I'll be out in Cardiff on Saturday night and there'll be plenty of bars showing the fight so I'll stick my head in.

I would buy it for the quality of the card. Lots of decent names in there. But imagine if that card was free. Would be amazing

Re: Who is buying Saturday's PPV
Decent names against utter nobodies! How's is that PPV?? Just because it's an Olympic medalist.
Because Brook fights Amateur star Frankie Gavin?
Hell even Bellew vs Cleverley or Khan vs Prescott were better match ups.
Each to their own. It's great numbers wise due to the normal regular fan. ...for people on here, unless you have a specific interest in a fighter (I always have with JMM but then saying that I never paid PPV form him fighting Pacquiao etc) then I doubt many will buy.

Re: Who is buying Saturday's PPV
It's not worthy of being PPV but it has some decent match ups on it considering the level the fighters are at; Campbell, Warrington, Eubank, Bellew and Joshua will all win but they are not fighting nobodies. These aren't world level fights so but also not sure why you're calling the likes of Mendy and Sullivan nobodies.

Re: Who is buying Saturday's PPV
Sullivan is a nobody. He got beat by Saunders a couple of years ago and has beat nobody of note since. Not to my knowledge anyway.
Mendy is OK....but he isn't in his prime....Didn't he fight Pistol years ago and lose? Who has he fought since?
For PPV I'd be expecting Saunders vs Eubank and Campbell vs Mitchell or something along those lines.

Re: Who is buying Saturday's PPV
O'Sullivan is no different to Eubank Jnr then hence it being a good match up, i'm expecting it to be a contender for domestic fight of the year but I suppose it's an awful fight because there's no world title on the line.
Barosso could be a tricky assignment for Mitchell, seems evident he's a big hitter and with Mitchell's questionable whiskers it's a potential banana skin.

Wouldn't say it's an awful fight, I just think eubank is going to batter him. This guy has fought nobody, both have the same loss on their respective records....but eubank the more talented.
Mitchell will do him in 4. If he doesn't then he should retire.

17 notes isn't a bad deal for a good night's boxing..
For me it's more about the principle..........You should have accomplished something before you become a PPv star..

Not a chance in hell - Its daylight robbery and Hearn/Sky are making a mockery of the fans. Ok I buy it that Hearn may have a contractual obligation to provide PPVs to Sky - but at least put on competitive matchups.
Why has he not matched Campbell v Mitchell for instance ? At least something with a bit substance.
Cheers, Rodders

True - I've got rid of Sky now and wont pay them an extra bean. Their greed is become too much and shoving Joshua on PPV at this stage is unbelievable.

We're getting it free onboard (go BFBS) but wouldn't but it if we wasn't. Pile of pants and the more people buy it the more the half decent fights will be PPV

Bit of news, Josh Warrington is ill so Del Boy is coming in to fill that gap in the bill. That devaules the PPV value significantly

Not a huge boxing fan, but this card looks good.
Not sure if i will buy it yet.
Think there are some good fights and have enjoyed watching the build up.

Re: Who is buying Saturday's PPV
I love watching boxing but I won't be paying for this, Eddie Hearns cards are becoming so ridiculous what's the point in paying for them when you know what the result is even before the fight even happens where as your getting the McGregor Aldo fight on bt that night for no extra cost and on paper it's a 50/50 fight, I know a lot of you guys are not ufc fans and I'd much rather watching boxing myself but I find this fight more appealing than the one sided ppv on sky card

Not me, swanning off to Aus and having a cold one in T3 as I speak. Hoping it'll be on for free over there but not going out of my way to watch it. Hoping AJ looks like a million bucks though.

Why is he a media darling ? a robotic media manufactured goon. A convicted drug dealer as well - give me Fury any day. Hoping AJ gets sparked

Steady on Rodders.
Convicted of possession, never any link to dealing, and never incarerated - just a minor offence.
He's since turned things around in an impressive and wholesome way. Though anyone who actually watches him box can see he's not actually Mr Nice Guy.
He is, however, an elite level athlete, takes his training and diet extremely seriously, uses his fists for fortune not his mouth etc etc.
You prefer a Hatton, or worse, a Bellew instead??

In 2011, Joshua was arrested for possessing cannabis with intent to supply. At a Crown Court hearing, he was sentenced to a 12-month community order and 100 hours' unpaid work after pleading guilty to the offence

Joshua vs Whyte is the equivelant of Fury vs McDermott. Usually Eddie justifies PPV's by the cost of the fight purses, but I'd be surprised if Whyte is getting more than a couple hundred grand. Joke of a PPV.

Re: Who is buying Saturday's PPV
I'm hoping the response Sunday morning is similar to Clev v Bellew 2. Nothing against the fights or fighters, I just don't want the PPV to be justified in any way. I won't be buying.
I completely agree with TRUSS, fighters need to earn the right to be PPV worthy.
I really think that people will have that 'I guess that result was glaringly obvious' feeling after the fight. Hearn has done a great job selling Joshua v Whyte as something more challenging and meaningful than an almost certain, one-sided demolition job for Joshua.

Re: Who is buying Saturday's PPV
I get the feeling that Eddie (and Barry) have on balance concluded there's not enough in the pot to pay the kind of money the fighters want if it's just on Sky as normal. I think their reasoning may be that the undercard with Eubank and Mitchell being fairly popular fighters now has tipped it. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Hearns have made a business decision to do more PPV stuff justifying it by looking at the cost of a night out on the town v pay for boxing with a few beers at home.
Incidentally my local put on Fury v Klitschko and off the back of that success (and many many beers drunk and food ordered) have got tonight's fight on as well!

I was thinking, at the same stage Price could have been on PPV if this is the new formula. Easy to say joshua is better but Price was a 15 and 0 Olympian and looking good.

Re: Who is buying Saturday's PPV
You'd think Whyte would be looking to explore two things- the stamina limitations of that big frame and at what stage of a fight does Joshua's power start to drop off.
Never seen Whyte , or Joshua for that matter, but this is the first time anybody is coming to win in Joshua's pro career so I'm very hopeful Whyte can make it interesting.
Will be watching , won't be paying. Really hope most people refrain from purchasing last minute to send out a clear message to Hearn just what he can do. Give him an inch, he'll take a mile.

I bought it and it was a great night of boxing. Most on here seemed to think Eddie had a poor card with one sided fights on offer. Just goes to show how wrong we can all be at times. £16.95 for last nights entertainment was well worth it.
