mikey_dragon wrote:Ireland looked unfit against Wales, something must not be right. In order for us two to be any good at this level we need players with exposure to Pro12 rugby. This doesn't seem to be the case in England or France who can somehow put out inexperienced teams and still be competitive.

The system in Ireland is they wait until the players have finished school to really work on physical development. In countries like England and France they're probably a little further along that path.
But it wasn't just fitness with this side. They make a lot of mistakes.
James Ryan looks like having everything to become a great lock though. Not sure if it's fitness or mental weakness but Ireland pretty much gave up in the 2nd half.
Yeah I've heard about Ryan for a few years. Looks a great athlete alright and excellent hands too.
The French blond sub hooker had some impact on the game. He won about 4 turnovers in 25 minutes!

Great win deserved too although England can feel hard done by with the disallowed try.

I think it is a good thing that Stockdale is back with the U20s. I think he has looked a little out of his depth in his appearances for Ulster, but at only 19 I hope that he can build on these experiences and improve. I'm sure that he will.

He showed good glimpses going forward but looked very timid when trying to tackle. Probably not mentally ready for the step up yet.

He had an off night last night. To put it mildly.
