AJ shouldn't give him another payday, or at least not for 2-3 years - if he's still around and earning it then, fiar play.

Re: David Haye sets sights on Anthony Joshua
Who's to say AJ doesn't get clobbered in 2-3 years and becomes another David Price? Let's not forget a fight with Haye also earns AJ his biggest ever payday...arguably more than he'd get defending a world title against an Eastern European nobody.
I can see why Haye wants it sooner rather than later though but it's no different to Wlad taking on these young bucks and beating them before they've had chance to mature and develop into more rounded fighters. It's smart.

They won't risk him against haye yet. Shame, if people are honest, I'm sure we'd all like to see it.

Re: David Haye sets sights on Anthony Joshua
This would actually be the sort of fight AJ should take to progress.
It is a fight against a smaller heavy that doesn't have the best work rate.
Problem is that Haye is dangerous and has a punch that if landed even nearly clean would be able to tumble anyone in the division.
AJ should be able to take the Wlad blueprint and fight a cautious points win but they are unlikely to go near him unless AJ forces it.
Haye should be using his profile to get in the papers a lot about this fight and how AJ is scared etc. to try to push it through.
AJ may only be a professional novice but he is the same age as Fury and should be moved along fairly quickly.
More likely that they'll try to pick up an easier title and milk it for 2-3 fights before having a big stadium fight against Haye.

I actually think it would benefit AJ to take it now. No way can Haye be ring fit.

Can see it materialising now , Hearn has lost what he thought was a bumper pay day in Khan signing to fight Canelo, this fight ticks all the boxes for him and is easy to make.

Eddie needs to be careful though. Logic says Khan should lose to Canelo which may keep a Brook fight alive so long as he's not given a career ending thumping but even that fight isn't likely to happen til the end of the year at the earliest. Should the unlikely happen and Khan wins, does anyone see him giving Brook first crack or do we think he calls out Mayweather. I'm sure Eddie is thinking along those lines which means he's got to look at AJ vs Haye as a big money spinner but at this stage of AJ's career it's fraught with dangerRodney wrote:Can see it materialising now , Hearn has lost what he thought was a bumper pay day in Khan signing to fight Canelo, this fight ticks all the boxes for him and is easy to make.

I dont see it happening this year anyway.
When you have an asset you can stick on ppv against Dillian Whyte, there is no real urgency to get in a bigger name to make a buck.
Haye needs credibility and Joshua needs experience and both can sell pretty well against nobodies so I dont think Matchroom will be in any rush. Im sure the vocals will start which will allow both guys to go off and bank easy money while "on collision course".

Joshua may have become the most lucrative opponent in the heavyweight division, when considering his Ppv success with Whyte.

What's up with haye? Doesn't he have the O2 booked for may? Training camp for that fight shortening by the day.
