First topic message reminder :

Rules;
£150m budget with to be spent on anybody based on their value on TM.
Draft system to build the squads.
Squad to be between 20-25 players, no more, no less.
Tactics short, teamsheet, substitutes, 100 words of tactics, few sentences for substitutions.
Everybody votes or lose a goal from their score, just scores and scorers acceptable although feedback is encouraged.
Choose your own real life team name although this will have no bearing on the players you can or can't sign.

Structure;

8 fixtures per team, 4 at home, 4 away. Two relegated from the Premier League, two promoted from the Championship.
3rd place in both leagues will playoff for the right to play in the Premier League.
Starting point determined at random.

You won't see me do a single deal in this league; I'll be buying from TM but there is only one player I lost in the draft I wanted, and I have an adequate replacement. I'll be saving up for TM signings.

I think that but you could do a similar midfield but tuck Arnautovic and Bolasie back but put Austin up front on his own.

Usually found Azzy to be agreeable to trades in league before, probably one of the easiest to do a deal with.

I know, he said earlier he wasn't trading any of his players, only buying from TM so thats why i said it.

I never had any problems dealing with Azzy.

Viva on the other hand.

Trick to these leagues as ever is to accept every lawyer.

My conclusion is that the best squad is probably somewhere in the middle.

Doesn't have too many "past it" and not too many "next big things".

Both arguments are valid and right, it's therefore about getting the right balance.

And Azzy, try telling Leicester that 4-4-2 is too old school. It's the new 4-2-3-1

Always my approach.

Don't be precious about your players. If you get an offer more than their value, take it. Fundamentally, with exceptions; the more expensive the players on TM are also the better ones, so the faster you build the value of your assets (squad and cash) the better chance you have.

Oh and never aim for winning season 1, as that is for the lucky with injuries. Season 2 is won by the best players.

Not enough Norwich players to be called an Olly team.

That's also where buying youngsters though helps, already I've had 4 price increases on my players due to TM rises.
Buy OAPs though and they're as likely to have reductions in their value.

That is true. But youngsters also don't offer the value for money that the over 30s do. You often pay a premium for the potential and not the ability. So even that's a balance.

TM seems to be balancing out the potential players more often then not nowadays.

Fairly content with my squad know where it needs upgrading too The issue i have is it's Germany based for the most part

Thiago Motta is brilliant Value at £2.25m for example.

By the time you've hit season 2 though you're able to have made a healthy profit and incurred hopefully a few price increases throughout your squad to then go for more the norm players.
If by then Sanches etc has got the big money move to Utd or Real and as a result his value goes from 600k to 20m then I'm laughing.

When I'm offered dog poo for players I'm hardly going to accept.

Motta is a fantastic player, easily one of the best CM in the world.

Who's got Florenzi? He was Roma's MOTM against Madrid tonight. Awesome performance but one slip up cost a goal though.

Lack creativity like an Ozil/Payet/Coutinho. Needs better full backs.

Decent team. You must be feeling a little french this year. I would say Aurier is your weak spot and needs to be improved upon ASAP.
