Ortiz vs Tony the Tiger thompson
So it's just been confirmed on sky sports that Ortiz will be fighting Toby Thompson, who has lost 3 of his last 5 fights. What happened to Ustinov? I thought Ortiz was due to face him? If Haye or Joshua had taken this fight, they would be slated for it. Just a week ago, we were all roundly criticising Haye for probably picking Malik Scott who comfortably beat Thompson. So what do you make of this fight?

I'm still working out how you can have an interim champion when the official one is active..
I'm not a fan of 44 year olds fighting...So I hope Ortiz retires him..
Pick Ortiz over Martin and Thompson but Fury, Josh, Haye and Wilder all beat him Imo

The tiger is durable and a seasoned pro so it's not a bad match but like truss it's dubious for a 44yr old to fight a young, heavy handed prospect. The ref needs to be quick to stop this if it goes away from the tiger.
The odd fight announcement is the Helenius fight. He gave up his euro title for that? Another euro fighter.

You mean Helenius against the guy wilder finished in 9 rounds? Strange fight maybe, but if Helenius can do a better job than wilder, it allows him to make noise to get a shot. Better that than a 50-50 vs Chisora.

Yes, Helenius obviously believes it's a benchmarking fight. But:
1. The lad is French so eligible to fight for the euro title
2. Was always considered a bit of a weak defence
Looks like he didn't fancy a Del boy rematch.

Two drug cheats and I'll wager there's no decent drug testing in place for this.

In 2 years both of these heavies will be nothing but a footnote in the history of "nearly" men. Both are drugs cheats. Granted Ortiz blitzed Jennings in his last fight but he's not really fought at a decent level otherwise.
The WBA who keep knocking on about KO'ing drugs are a bleeping disgrace sanctioning this for one of their "titles". The "belt" my mate won for our drunken sparring session in his back garden in 1991 is worth more. I guess if it's performance enhancing drugs it's ok. Pointless fight.

In all fairness that was a classic fight you can't really compare ARMA-GARDEN 91' to this up coming tripe.
