So far so good and relatively few people on the initial "list" which is always a good sign...
However there is time, how goes it with you dear chap?

Pretty good. Lemon Pastries and hot chocolate to start off the day. Still dreaming about grilled pakistani foods.

Just hope Tino doesn't mistake it for "bang" and resort to hiding in the wardrobe.

Lyrics:
1. Ain't no beauty queens in this locality
2. But if it wasn't for your misfortunes, I'd be a heavenly person today
3. Oh my God, look at that face, you look like my next mistake
4. To the heart and mind, Ignorance is kind
5. Looking out a dirty old window, Down below the cars in the city go rushing by, I sit here alone and I wonder why
6. The lift is always full of urine, the fifth floor landing smells of fish
7. When I first met you girl you didn't have no shoes, Now you're walking 'round like you're front page news
8. There, here comes Jeanie with her new boyfriend, they say that looks don't count for much, if so, there goes your proof
9. Life's about film stars and less about mothers, It's all about fast cars and cussing each other
10. When there's no-one else in sight, In the crowded lonely night, Well I wait so long, For my love vibration

Try some Electro Swing Shah always perks me up in the morning playing in the background as I get through all my initial tedious mails.
Good here, though information overload and lots of names I will not remember, one hottie has rocked up but other end of the office... I need to recruit an admin so I am thinking of a bikini round at the interview stage...

Hallo TLD, nice gentle evening for you or still unpleasantly humid/dry/insecty?
Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
Good question!
Quite nice this morning, slightly cooler. high 20s (maximum for the day) but it felt more like low 20s with sea breeze.
It has been baking hot since mid January. Not a drop of rain. Very, very dry. Humidity quite high but not enough to produce any rain.
Lots of movement in the insect world. I've noticed the ants have had to relocate about 3 times. A couple of small spiders out near where the huge fir tree came down. It was all chopped up and finally shredded for free yesterday morning. Quite a nice gesture from council.

Morning tino.
Wish I lived in a rural/open area would quite enjoy observing nature around me. Our house got flooded once, the shower hadn't been fitted well by a subcontractor and the contractor rented accommodation for us while they gutted the ground floor to rebuild it. The rented accommodation was on the outskirts of luton and had an old shed that had fallen into ruin. So spent the three weeks watching a vixen and an owl rear their young. Good times wish I'd thought to record it.

Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
Morning Ricko and Tino,
I wiped the wasps out in three stages.
1. Afghani bloke used fly spray with a flame to nuke them initially. A few escaped.
(I saw a decent swarm a few days later... they must have been wondering where the hell is our honeycomb?)
2. A new home was then set up on the back of a new block wall near the pool. The roofing guy removed that one.
3. They sort of re-established near the first one (above) so I gave them the shovel treatment so I could seal the concrete slab for the rain water tank without getting stung. They were around head height.
There was this strange ornamental, twisty, juicy trepadora (big leaves with lots of organic-shaped holes on them... like artwork) and I discovered that the main trunk, which was about as thick as your forearm, had grown up alongside a window frame and prised open a small gap and the ants were using this as a superhighway into the cavity of the double brick wall.
There were all of these secondary 'cords'... like soft blood vessels (as thick as your finger but meters long) climbing up the wall too. It reminded me of one of those fast growing aliens. So many arms and lesser arms growing everywhere!

I live in the middle of nowhere practically. Right between two villages. Wouldn't change it for anything (expect moving back north but that ain't happening). We quite often see foxes, owls, numerous deer, badgers in and around our garden.
Last year, I got up early one Saturday and looked out of the window. There was mist hanging low and dew all over the fields and flowers. I looked out over the fields and there was a deer with her fawns silhouetted by the early morning sunshine. It was one of the most stunning images I have ever seen. I remember thinking how lucky I was to be able to see that sort of thing from my bedroom window.
Even yesterday, I was out in the woods behind our house with the kids (apart from the nipper who is poorly). It was great. Just me and the kids, building a den in the woods Fresh air, no people, no w*nkers on the tube with a fixed grimace on their face. We built a den, we ate some food in there, we got covered in mud and then went back to the house. Great stuff.

That's pretty cool, Should have taken some pics! I'll see if I can dig up some old footage i took when I was 17 Of a hornet swarm attacking the livestock when a poorly mannered lamb jostled their low hanging nest.

Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
Sounds nice, Tino.
This looks a little like it.
Had an owl murdered here by other birds who ganged up on it. It was after the biggest tree (Norfolk pine) was cut down. It moved to the other big tree (some type of fir) - the one that came down on Jan 30th - but got its eye pecked out by various groups of birds.
I then found it dead the next day in the corner of the yard. So sad. I felt so guilty and irresponsible having destroyed its ancestral home.
I gave it a proper burial. It's sort of a holy shrine up there now.

It's not the most tolerant of places, Shah. They think I am foreign, let alone someone from your ethnic background.
But having said that, the geography is lovely and you'll always be welcome at the Windows household.

Always found it weird how dead wild animals wrought a lot of sympathy from me yet I slaughtered chickens in Pakistan for a while when there was a three week power cut and the meat couldn't be refrigerated. See If you can buy stuff from the bbc shop TLd, there was an owl documentary a few weeks back which you would have enjoyed. With family raising a lot of owlets and a couple of other birds of prey. Then they broke down their "superpowers" in a sci fi like fashion which was absolutely feckin brilliant.
