Four Divisions One Belt!
Okay so this is how it should be! Four divisions One belt!
I just invented this in a couple of minutes obviously positions can be changed, and we must allow ourselves to accept that some fighters would have to gain weight etc to compete in these divisions, but in an ideal world this is how it should be!..
Heavyweight Division (176lb +)
Champion - Tyson Fury (UK)
1. Wlad Klitschko (Ukraine)
2. Deontay Wilder (USA)
3. Alexsandr Povetkin (Russia)
4. Luis Ortiz (Cuba)
5. Anthony Joshua (UK)
6. Grigory Drozd (Russia)
7. Oleksandr Usyk (Ukraine)
8. Joseph Parker (New Zealand)
9. Bryant Jennings (USA)
10. Charles Martin (USA)
Super Middleweight Division (160-175lbs)
Champion - Sergey Kovalev (Russia)
1. Andre Ward (USA)
2. Adonis Stevenson (Canada)
3. Bernard Hopkins (USA)
4. Arthur Abraham (Armenia)
5. James DeGale (UK)
6. Andrzej Fonfara (Poland)
7. Gilberto Ramirez (Mexico)
8. Fedor Chudinov (Russia)
9. Badou Jack (Sweden)
10. Artur Beterbiev (Russia)
Middleweight Division (147-160lbs)
Champion - Gennady Golovkin (Kazakhstan)
1. Saul Alvarez (Mexico)
2. Manny Pacquiao (Phillipines)
3. Timothy Bradley (USA)
4. Erisandy Lara (Cuba)
5. Miguel Cotto (Puerto Rico)
6. Daniel Jacobs (USA)
7. Demetrius Andrade (USA)
8. Keith Thurman (USA)
9. Peter Quillan (USA)
10. Jermall Charlo (USA)
Lightweight Division (0-140lbs)
Champion - Terrence Crawford (USA)
1. Lucas Matthysse (Argentina)
2. Jorge Linares (Venezuela)
3. Guillermo Rigondeaux (Cuba)
4. Vasyl Lomachenko (Ukraine)
5. Nicholas Walters (Jamaica)
6. Ruslan Provodnikov (Russia)
7. Jessie Vargas (USA)
8. Victor Postal (Ukraine)
9. Rances Barthelemy (Cuba)
10. Yuiorkas Gamboa
So the World Champions would be: Fury, Kovalev, Golovkin and Crawford.
The number 1 in each division would be mandatory for a shot at the title so the big fights would be:
Fury v Klitschko
Kovalev v Ward
Golovkin v Alvarez
Crawford v Matthysse
Seconds would fight thirds for number one mandatory positions:
Wilder v Povetkin
Stevenson v Hopkins
Pacquiao v Bradley
Linares v Rigondeaux
Fourths v Fifths for ranking points:
Ortiz v Joshua
Abraham v DeGale
Lara v Cotto
Lomanchenko v Walters
Much better format I think!!
What you guys think?

Re: Four Divisions One Belt!
You've got small guys going in against guys rehyrating to near MW limit.
They don't make'em like Jimmy Wilde anymore, they'd get killed. The old 8 weight system worked, 4 weights is just a bit lunatic like.

C'mon Coxy it'd be far better craic, easier to manage, clear champions, top match ups.

How is Postol ranked so much lower than a guy he dominated?
Great idea handicapping anyone who isn't at 10 stone.

Re: Four Divisions One Belt!
In my ideal world I'd abolish all the alphabets and have one champion per division. I don't mind the number of divisions there are at the moment but when I try explaining to the old man why Fury is the heavyweight champion on the world but Martin has one of his belts and how there are multiple champions per division it just makes boxing look like a joke. However I think hell will freeze over before there is one true champ per division

I get one champion per division but you need more weight divisions. What's are guys like Drozd and Hernandez etc meant to do against Wilder Fury Joshua etc. Theyd be massacred. What about the minimum weight guys are guys like Ioka and Chocolatito going up against Podtol and Crawford. Also surely Postol is Number one or two?

The divisions can stay as they are now and are fine. I think getting rid of these catch weight bouts would be a good thing

Re: Four Divisions One Belt!
Not a huge fan of catch weight fights myself. Mayweather bringing Canelo down to like 152 or whatever when he fought Cotto at 154 and ODLH. Same with Many and Cotto, he fought ODLH at the full weight, so why drag Cotto down. To gain an advantage, is the only reason and I dislike that.
Times when it should be used is to be fair to both camps, but I don't like world titles being on the line really for a catch weight fight, it.opens too many bad doors.
