With Adam Scott holding off Sergio Garcia it was a case of the haves and have nots in the Fantasy League. Picks finished in the top 3 spots on the leaderboard but no one managed the trifecta. The closest was a first and third and two Fantasy Leaguers had those in their picks. The next best finish from a pick was sixth and one of those two, Sand, had that pick. That was enough to leapfrog everyone to the top of pile. Raycastleunited and Hibbz may have had the most picks score points with four but Hibbz was hampered by not having Scott. GolferMartin was one of five Fantasy Leaguers to have three picks score points; Sand has already been mentioned and the others were BlueCoverman, I'm Never Wrong, and SetupDetermines. Setup was the only other Fantasy Leaguer in the top ten that didn't pick Scott, he was however the only one to pick Garcia. Six Fantasy Leaguers had two picks score points, two of them, BobtheJob and Beninho, had Scott and they finished in the top ten the others, 1GrumpyGolfer, Davie, McLaren, and TheCleaver, couldn't match the quality and finished in mid table obscurity. AlciG, Kwinigolfer, LadyPutt, and SirBenson all had one pick score points; LadyPutt's also happened to be Scott so she was the final Fantasy Leaguer to crack the three digit mark and round out the top ten.
John Huh had the round of the day with a 66 and that earned points for Raycastleunited.

The Honda Classsic signals the forst of the Florida swing and means a fair few of the players will sleep in their own beds and commute a short distance to work for a change. They might need home comforts after they enter the Bear Trap. Rory McIlroy headlines and has better memories of PGA National than the ones he created at Riviera after his implosion. Exhibition opponent Rickie Fowler is the next highest ranked player; Patrick Reed and Branden Grace are the other top ten ranked players teeing it up.
Padraig Harrington eventually won last year's tournament, in a playoff, on a Monday no less. It was his second win at The Honda just the ten years after the first one; no doubt he'll be long odds for 2025. Other former champions in the field date back to 1997 with Stuart Appleby. Vijay Singh also won before 2000. More recent winners include Russell Henley, Michael Thompson, Rory McIlroy, Rory Sabbatini, Camilo Villegas, Ernie Els, Mark Wilson, and Luke Donald. Only Y.E. Yang is missing from the list dating back to Harrington's first win.
There are three Categories where you will need pick three players, plus reserve, from each one. There are bonus points available if you get all of your picks through in any category. Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus. It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.
This is a full field with cut event, cut points will be available; see above.

RULES
Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:
Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 9 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.
Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligible for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.
Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply or PM them to me. Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.
Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Webb Simpson has now withdrawn so Gomez will step up unless you'd like to make another pick. You may want to consider adding another reserve.

Used the PGA stats in key areas this week, my usual method has been ok but thought it was due a change. Interesting enough based off the percieved 6 key areas for this course Fowler should be nailed on winner based off his standing in those areas followed by Reed and then Mickelson. I've faded Fowler as I feel his few weeks off will let him down.

Swapped around Grace and Koepka just so you know Grumps. Spent all morning debating whether to switch out McIlroy for Fowler/Koepka too...decided to stick with my gut. Not sure why since Rory was spraying it everywhere but dead centre last week...a trait which will mean trouble here at National

Van Arse Wagon, as you quaintly put it, has already teed off but wouldn't have finished his first hole. All the rest are good. He also bogies his first hole so you can keep him.
I've picked him too so we're going to fail together.

Round one was curtailed by darkness with the brilliantly named Bronson Burgoon left as one of three players still to finish their 18th hole. However none of those three will affect the scoring as it's impossible to score five under par for a single hole.
Sergio Garcia produced one of the rounds of the day with a 65. He was joined at the top of the leaderboard by Michael Thompson. Rounds of 67 or lower were needed to make the top five low round scores and four other picks managed that. Hibbz had three of them, AlciG, Sand, and SetupDetermines each had two but Setup had Garcia so he's tied for the lead with Hibbz. Twelve other Fantasy Leaguers picked one of the scoring picks and typically it was Rickie Fowler but David Lingmerth was half as popular. 1GrumpyGolfer, Beninho, BlueCoverman, BobtheJob, Davie, GolferMartin, I'm Never Wrong, LadyPutt, McLaren, Raycastleunited, Super_Realist, and TheCleaver were the ones to have a single pick score points.

I was wrong about Rory - he COULD be as bad as he was last week I need some good play from some of my picks in Round 2 or I risk losing about half of them to the cut!

Well they say statistics dont always show the true picture; true in my case....Reed,Knost,Glover & Grace all selected due to statistically standing... whoops! and to think...I faded the other two (Fowler & Mickelson) in favour of Rory & Reed! Be lucky to see one person make the weekend!
Rory consider yourself blacklisted for all future tournaments until you win one! Shocking stuff!

Coming to something when one of your A Team needs to hole a ten foot putt on the last to avoid pitching a shut-out/making a duck.

If last week saw cut bonuses being hard to find then this week they were like rocking horse droppings. Less than a third of Fantasy Leaguers earned a bonus and some of them were greedy and snaffled two! Two Fantasy Leaguers missed out on the full weekend set by one pick; on was Hibbz who now has sole possesion of a consolidated lead, the other was GolferMartin who has moved into a tie for second. Kwinigolfer and Raycastleunited both are left with seven picks; Kwini earned one more bonus then Ray and was the final Fantasy Leaguer to earn two. Beninho, I'm Never Wrong, Sand, SetupDetermines, and SirBenson are all left with six picks; Sand and SetupDetermines didn't earn a bonus from their remaining six and that was the last of the bonuses.
Davie and Pedro both have five picks left while 1GrumpyGolfer, AlciG, BlueCoverman, BobtheJob, and LadyPutt have four picks left. EmmDee57, Eyetoldyouso, McLaren, Owen10ozzy, Super_Realist, and TheCleaver all left with three picks.
Patton Kizzire shot 64 for the low round while the cut line fell at three over.

For a while all those with Adam Scott were looking really good for the low round of the day; racking up birdie after birdie until he came to the Bear Trap. Oops. Two water balls later he walks off with a quad and suddenly Billy Horschel is the man with the low round of the day. A first career birdie on 17 and Scott tied Horschel for low round and it stayed that way. Eigth Fantasy Leaguers, Beninho, BlueCoverman, BobtheJob, GolferMartin, I'm Never Wrong, LadyPutt, Raycastleunited, and Sand, picked Scott. Beninho, BobtheJob, GolferMartin, and Sand all had another scoring player to add to their haul. Three other Fantasy Leaguers had a player that shot either 67 or 68 to make the Top 10 Low Round scores. McLaren and SetupDetermines each had one and Hibbz had three!
