Meadows impresses again in Lieven
Jenny Meadows has further confirmed her return to top form as she fashioned a second impressive victory on the international scene on the bounce, out of as many outings, this season in Lievin, France, tonight.
Having measured her effort well through a fast first lap of 57.54 secs, she came through to storm to a SB and UK-leading mark of 2:00.29, sparing huge daylight on a good field involving Ukraine's duo of Natalia Lupu and Yuliya Krevsun and home favourite Hind Dehiba.
Following a summer affected by a persisting injury, the world and European bronze medallist looks to have bounced back onto the scene better than ever and lay a serious claim on the European indoor title, should she decide to turn up in Paris early next month.
Luke Fagan made the most of a rare appearance at this level to grab a PB of 6.72 secs in the heats of the men's 60m, shaving a 0.03 secs off his recent previous best, to miss out on the final by a mere hundredth of a second. After a long time in the twilight, the European U20 runner-up over 200m in 2007 is showing solid signs that he is turning the corner and drawing firmly back on track.
Joice Maduaka did make the final, though, through a SB of 7.40 in the heats. Yet, she couldn't replicate that run in the final to come last in 7.48 secs in an affair won by European season leader Olesya Povh (UKR) on a photo-finish verdict from Ruddy Zang Milama (GAB) in the same time of 7.17 secs.
France's top star Teddy Tamgho dominated the men's triple jump with aplomb as he stamped his authority on the field from day one with a big world-leading mark opener of 17.64m, hitting a sound 17.47m in the fourth round as well. Cuba's Alexis Copello was a distant second at 17.14m with Barcelona's bronze medallist Marian Oprea (ROM) third at 17.07m.
Kellie Wells looks in sizzling form as she posted a brace of world-topping times of 7.87 (heats) and a final 7.85 secs to overwhelm the women's 60m hurdles in the wake of an equal-US record over 55m recently, with Jamaica's Vonette Dixon a long way behind in 8.02 secs. Ireland's Derval O'Rourke was marginally third in 8.03 secs.

Re: Meadows impresses again in Lieven
A nice marginal win for Lenore Clarke over Mike Rodgers on the line just inside 6.6 secs, while it's nice to see evergreen Kim Collins still perform at this level.
Dayron Robles returned to winning ways in the hurdles although he was apparently slightly limping off at the end. He doesn't look like totally over his problems yet.
