Argh!!! I knew the BBC as a respectable beacon for good English and grammar had been declining, but this evening's front page headline takes the biscuit. A laughing stock:

Spoiler:

Wage growth to slow??? It's "too", you morons!!!

The trouble I have with the BBC is that tends to focus on non-news celebrity rubbish, trivialises important news, and goes for shock irrelevant stories and gossip.  "A dog ripped my arm off", "A kite surfers crash that put him in a coma", numerous articles on Donald Trumps hair and kim kardashian's ass & related:

Just to think the British taxpayer pays for all this "news" gathering nonsense.

Problem with that Nore is BBC has to cater for all of the UK and sadly that sh*te you just highlighted is popular so the BBC is obliged to cover it even if it irritates the rest of us. Otherwise most of the "newspapers" in this country would already have gone bust.

Laugh Well, they did clarify it by adding "down" later in the evening.
Call it ambiguous/poor editorial work, rather than out and out cobblers.

Edit: I shouldn't post after a couple of glasses of wine I guess...

I like to supply the odd light-hearted moment to this forum  Very Happy . Only the one honours degree (and not in English!) and to be fair, they did clarify the actual headline a little later, which as a standalone headline, was pretty ambiguous.
I'll stand by my point about declining editorial oversight though.
