2015-16 Playoffs
this season was a bit of a failure to launch on here for whatever reason, but with Playoffs looming I thought I'd create an article for them.
Warriors looking impossible to dismount right now with their 63-7 record and yet Spurs are only 4 games adrift of catching them. the East is as usual a bucket of Poopie but Lebron is probably looking at another trip to the finals at this rate.
Also Curry will be back to back MVP John

Not Play offs yet, but in arguably the biggest game in regular season history, Warriors broke the Spurs unbeaten home run and with it became the first side in 20 years to win 72 matches. Hard to look past them this year. Especially in a best of seven

Re: 2015-16 Playoffs
No Steph: No problem. Warriors cruise past the Rockets and take a 2-0 lead in the play offs. So hard to see anyone winning four games vs them.
Kevin Durant had a junk night, but the Mavericks still only won buy a single point. Hard to see them beating OKC when OKC play so badly and still only lose by a point.
Toronto also tied up against Paul George and the Indiana Pacers. Hard to see the Pacers going too far with their current lot

Cleveland beat Toronto & make the NBA finals. Cleveland have now made the final in consecutive years, while LeBron James will be playing in his sixth straight NBA Final. They await the winner of Oklahoma vs Golden State, with the Thunder currently 3-2 up.

The Cavaliers might get swept here. Haven't even looked competitive

It's now been forced to game 7. Winner takes all

King James > Curry
Cleveland did it & won the NBA title, becoming the first side to come back from 3-1 down, to win the championship

Damn. Watched this live and it wrecked my day. Unspeakably huge fan of Kyrie Irving, so I'm happy for him, but Lebron irritates the Frak out of me. Credit to the cavs, although the refs were abhorrent for the whole first half which stopped the Warriors from really pulling away

A fit Rose + Melo and KP.... That's a 50+ win team.
Durant to GSW being mooted. Hard to see past GSW winning three or four ships if it happens

Re: 2015-16 Playoffs
another old man at the Spurs with Pau Gasol (35) joining them for 5 years. Tim Duncan is probably retiring but shouldn't they be looking at some fresh blood instead? They still have Parker and Ginobili who are not exactly young guns. The contrast with Golden State is even clearer now big vs small, 2pts vs 3 pts, experience vs youth etc etc

Re: 2015-16 Playoffs
The Warriors were four points short of a championship last season. And that was with Curry injured and Thompson not firing. Also Harrison Barnes (who BTW has gone 4-years 95 million to the Mavericks) missing open jumpers. The only thing stopping the Warriors now is chemistry. If that team gels immediately, they're breaking the regular season record. They're strolling to the Finals. They're smashing the Cavs

Re: 2015-16 Playoffs
Rajon Rondo replaces Rose in Chicago. I see Miami trying to stop Wade going to the Cavaliers. Not sure it's a dead cert that GSW will blow the Cavs away, as it's been stated, gotta find the chemistry. I see Luol Deng has joined the L.A Lakers on 72m dollar contract

Dwyane Wade ends 13 year association with the Miami Heat and joins the Chicago Bulls.

Two weeks ago Gar Forman told media that Bulls needed to get “younger” and more “athletic.” Now they’re about to land Wade+Rondo. Interesting. Add those two to Butler & it's a decent line-up.

I'm just about done crying about the fact that he's left us. On the bright side, that clears up some hefty space and now we surely get a prime superstar? Arise Russell Westbrook. Much like the Durant -> GSW trade, I'm making a gut call here.

Brave call from Oklahoma if they trade Westbrook after losing KD. Might take Oklahoma many years to return as genuine contenders again.kingraf wrote:Jermaine2015 wrote:Dwyane Wade ends 13 year association with the Miami Heat and joins the Chicago Bulls.

Re: 2015-16 Playoffs
Joakim Noah has followed his buddy Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks real changing of the guard at Chicago. Never thought I'd see the Bulls trade two of their big three.
But I guess they'll build around Jimmy Butler now and DWade

The legendary Tim Duncan has announced his retirement. One of the all time greats, for my money the best player of this generation, 5 rings shows his class.

Great career. Should have retired two seasons ago tbh but hey.
Serious cap space clears up for San António. Pop will probably select some old guy there

Think the Knicks win this. Noah/Anthony/Rose/KP/TBA can beat the Cavs over seven games if healthy and TBA is a decent player

Re: 2015-16 Playoffs
Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki has signed a bumper $50m two year deal with with Mavs. First time in his career he's received a massive salary deal. More than deserved after his 18 years of loyal service to Dallas.

Oklahoma City Thunder have tied down star point guard Russell Westbrook to a new 3 year deal worth potentially $85.7m. Westbrook will still be able to enter the free agency market at the end of the 2017-18 season.
