Helped by my age when I saw him play, but I still view him as the most talented player I have ever seen.

Saw Cruyff at Wembley in 1977 when he was perhaps a little past his best - was more interested in Neeskens really.
Probably in the Top Three European post-war footballers, but he made that early/mid seventies Dutch team the most entertaining I ever saw.

Cruyff was a very stylish player - immensely talented. To this day I still remember the wide sense of disappointment on the part of neutrals when the amazingly fluent and talented Netherlands team that had graced the tournament were beaten by the more prosaic German team in the 1974 WC final.
