Week 9 results
Whowin 3 - 0 Macc Town (walkover)
Chesham 3 - 2 Man Utd
(Higuain x2, Firmino) (Vardy, Coutinho)
Very difficult to call. For me, Viva's side is best attacked at full back, as despite the excellent cover from the DMs, they lack the quality at both full back spots against top wingers. This is where Nando has focused his side, and although he hasn't got the best wide attackers, both full backs are top drawer and can see them getting round the outside and getting crosses in, especially given the lack of defensive running from Robben/Ben Arfa. With Higuain being one of the best around as a pure poacher, this is a crucial area
Think Coutinho will have some success with Saul being his main marker, as not sure he has the experience as a man marker to be able to completely take the little Brazilian out of the game. Smalling and Stones also have mistakes in them, and think Vardy will be able to capitalise
Really tough to call this, home advantage is big for me, and with the biggest weakness on either side looking like Viva's full backs, I'll go with a home win
Chesham 3 - 2 Man Utd
(Higuain x2, Firmino) (Vardy, Coutinho)
- Chesham tactics:
- Injuries - Diego Lopez,Alex Meier,Manuel Lanzini
-------------------Benaglio
Bellerin -- Smalling -- Stones -- Hector
--------------Saul --- Castro
Kampl --------Firmino ----- Narsingh
-----------Higuain
Bench: Dragovic,Gamez,Aranguiz,Orellana,Paloschi,Younes
Team Talk: Up against Viva who currently as of 10pm is without a goalkeeper...Shall look to exploit full backs and stop the midfield by pressing high up the pitch.
* Smalling to stick to Vardy,Stones to cover and play from the back
* Full backs to get up the pitch and whip balls in when doubling up on their full backs
* Saul to get tight to Coutinho and stop him from creating
* Castro to get about the midfield and press Alonso and be a late run into the box threat
* Wingers to use their pace and put balls in the box, sometimes to cut inside and shoot
* Firmino to drift off Higuain and be a creative goal threat
* Higuain on the last man and be a 6 yard box poacher
Subs: Aranguiz on for Saul if need more creativeness. If winning then Firmino off and go 5-4-1 with Dragovic into CB.
- Man Utd tactics:
- Chesham United vs Manchester United
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Reina
Varela Koscielny Laporte Maxwell
Alonso Motta
Robben Coutinho Ben Arfa
Vardy
Subs
Aurier
Terry
Brandt
Toni
Injuries
Iker Casillas
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
N'Golo Kante
Defenders to mark zonally, fullbacks show the wingers the inside where they'll be met by our CM to block of the crossing/shooting options. Motta & Alonso block and intercept passes cutting down the passing angles, both of you keep the ball ticking looking for our wide men or Vardy runs in behind. Attacking trio play to run with the ball committing players which will open space for us and get shots in. Smalling likes to get on top of defenders, Vardy look to spin him when he tries that and always make runs for our attackers to find you.
SUB 70 MIN IF WINNING
Ben Arfa off Brandt on (Fresh legs)

Sure Trebs
Think your front 4 is one of the best in either league, CBs very solid with Silva fit.
Main weaknesses for me are full backs, and a bit of a lack of physical presence in midfield. I'd consider Lahm at right back and trying to bring in another defensive midfielder with a bit more presence to play alongside Moutinho, or upgrading the right back position
I think you lack any real quality behind Lahm/Moutinho in central midfield, so that would be the key area I'd be looking to target

Re: Week 9 results
Cheers, i completely agree that I need to do something at central midfield, just a case of working out what that is.
