It's a Job in my work but around Collateral management.

It's the same grade but key benefits is no people management in the role.

What does all that mean, I'm just a thick Civil Servant

In its most simplistic terms.

If I give you a secured loan of say 100,000 euros last month and you put your house as collateral which was valued at 100,000. (if you couldn't pay off get your house)

Well last month your house was worth 100,000 but this month it's only worth 75k so you have to put something else worth 25k up to cover difference .

So I am never out of pocket.

But it will be more with investment firms and government bonds etc.

Cheers, I hate interviews but I hate people management more, so fingers crossed.

I do have the interview bank in front of me so hopefully can get enough decent examples to cover the questions.

Reading all this, I wish I applied myself better when I was younger

I'm now at the level where my appetite for progression is done.
I'm a management accountant and have no desire to do the job my line manager does.

I just use the approach of if I hang about long enough then eventually everyone will move on and I am the only one left who knows some stuff.

It was the approach I took to 6WF, almost worked too

There was an embargo on promotions in the civil service over here for years because of the Resession but things are moving now but I'm still waiting for an EO competition

What is an EO competition?

EO is an Executive Officer which is a grade up from mine and a competition is what they call the process of hiring people, through interviews or tests

I was caught in the PO3 progression slump for years - Thankfully that has ended and I've been lucky enough to move through the grades - Unfortunately to the detriment of my 6CW career

I come on here to get away from work talk.

Anyone else have problems with BT going down this morning? People went potty here and had to explain it is out of my hands "But why" they cry "You are the IT guy"

I gave them the look of doom.
