Ten Great Thrillers....... You've probably never seen..
I love a good thriller and so do a lot of people........Some of these are crossover thrillers with a tint of horror chucked in but give them a look......If you have time..
1. Old Boy (2003)......Part 2 of the Park Chan Wook trilogy.....A guy who's been locked up for years gets given 5 days to find his jailor...Great pace.. great ending.........A gem..
2. The White Room (1990)...Introverted kid witnesses the murder of a rock star......Coming of age story and thriller built into one.......Beautifully filmed..
3. The Bird with the Crystal plummage (1968).....Serial killer on the loose...Tourist witnesses attempted murder but did he really see what he thought he did ??..
4. The Star Chamber (1983)......Bombed when it came out......Michael Douglas becomes a judge and is invited to become a member of a death panel that hunts down criminals who "they believe" get away with crimes.....When a contract gets put on an innocent man Douglas has to stop the hit from going ahead..
5. Profondo Rossi (1975)......Tourist witnesses a murder but doesn't realise he has seen the killer.....Killer thinks he has seen them though...Cat and mouse results...
6. Suspicion (1942)...Spinster thinks playboy husband is trying to kill her......Is she right or wrong ??
7. Deadly Desire (1991).....Security guard gets framed for the murder of a socialite's husband....Can he track her down in time and is her husband really dead ??....
8. Blackout (1985).....Retired Cop reckons respected business and family man is serial killer from a case years before...Is he right ??
9. Body double (1984)......Seedy, perverted but strangely appealing thriller.....Unknown and underappreciated Brian Dapalma piece..
10. Gorky Park (1983)......Brilliantly acted......Superb thriller.....Murder, corruption and romance all in one movie...Great novel too by Cruz Smith..

Seen Old Boy and am avoiding the remake on general principle as I enjoyed the Original so much.
Struggled with Gorky Park for no other reason that the dreadful Russian accents.
Would also recommend "Liar" with Tim Roth. Spoilt rich kid is accused of murder and gives the two interviewing officers the runaround during his lie detector tests

Watched The 39 Steps (the 1935 Hitchcock version) recently and found it surprisingly enjoyable.
