Re: 6CW Chat v14
Tags with a purpose are a good old method to move things along, but I have been trying to do less random tag matches which are really tempting with this roster size. Thats why every so often people aren't on the card. It can work in reverse with the tag division too. Don't want to have, for example as they aren't on the card, BD & Logan vs the teams on offer every week because then the shine of it has gone, but don't want to plonk them in two random singles matches, especially as the likelihood is the guys who are currently in singles competition would need the win more.
Its all about what is most important for story or character development that show. People like Plague, Ojore, Joshua, some of the monster types, its hard to book them on the normal shows every time as they aren't gimmicked to be normal wrestler-folk. Good example, to some extent as hes been mismanaged at times, but nonetheless a good example is Bray Wyatt, who has a character that isnt about constant matches, or the odd occasions where the Undertaker was full time but barely wrestled so as to protect his aura.

I asked a couple of weeks ago but got blanked! I keep getting emails about responses to this thread but no one explained what it is (despite being very active, if my 45 emails are anything to go by!).
I had a look around the threads and can't make head or tail of things but it looks interesting. Also, how do I turn off my notifications lol

6CW is an efed Mr Tom - That probably means nothing as well but essentially it's an online wrestling company where 'handlers' create a wrestler and role play as that character
In the getting started section it gives a little information about efedding tips but 6CW is a wrestling company that posts written shows fortnightly on a Monday with PPVs every few months, we have a roster of around 30 characters who promo in character when a match card is posted - Based on promo standard and storyline direction a show is written much the same as RAW or Smackdown - In its current incarnation 6CW had been a part of v2 for around 4 years but we have been around for over 10 years off and on
I am one of the creative team so if you h e any questions I'm happy to do my best to answer

Re: 6CW Chat v14
That kind of explains it lol
Sounds interesting.
I will go and check out the section you mentioned. Do I need approval to get a character? And which character do I promo for?

You create your own character - I'll try and find a character sheet s you can see the kind of thing you need to consider - We are all welcoming here do if it's something you fancy trying then we can get you up and running whenever you are ready
Best advice is don't come up with something too gimicky as it becomes hard very quickly to keep coming up with promo ideas for a really niche character

Re: 6CW Chat v14
To a degree Tom. My character started out as a Biker and and an Ex convict who joined the wrestling federation as a way to get away with beating people up legally. Since then he's became a legitimate wrestler.
Personally I'd say go.for something with a loose back story. Something that you can draw on for promos and for character influence and also try to.make the character somewhat part of yourself so that you feel able to speak for them and can get into their head if you get me? An I've had no drink so take from that what you will haha
Welcome aboard Tom..

Re: 6CW Chat v14
I'm always sober but I talk crap...but to echo what BD says...create something that is personal to you because if you pigeonhole yourself too much it will get boring fast.
My main character has been going for about 3 and a half years now and due to the fact it's basically me turned up to 11 I've never got to the point where writing promos hasn't felt natural, as if I was just writing how I'd react if I was a wrestler playing myself.
On the other hand, I created a tag team who were stuck in a gimmick and it gave no room for growth, the backstory was so rigid that they couldn't really expand on it and they lasted maybe 2 months if that. That's one thing you'll find if you stick around, if you walk in with a character who's basically a blank slate then you'll soon have him finding his voice and gaining a backstory/personality that we'll all see develop as well.
As for crazier the better, it's good to stand out but avoid being too crazy as it becomes unbelievable...there was a guy called Matzko who was before my time but I'm sure some of the guys here could talk about some of his exploits in promos.
Anyway, no more rambling from me...looking forward to what you create, maybe check some of the roster sheets to make sure you don't steal anyone's gimmicks/theme tunes etc.
