Connacht vs Edinburgh, Friday 30th September 2016
First topic message reminder :
Game: Connacht vs Edinburgh
Venue: Galway
Date: Friday 30th September
Kick-off: 7:35pm
TV: Doubt it
Form: Both sides have been rubbish. Edinburgh are 9th in the league having lost all their games bar one, Connacht have lost 3 from 3.
Likely outcome: One for the purists, but Connacht to rediscover themselves with a healthy bonus point win.

Great attacking phase by Connacht with a try for Robb at the end.
Bonus point. The men from the Wesht are back.
Even though 6 points lost through conversions.

Your auto correct is beginning to understand rugby, but not quite there yet.

Muldoon: I could have scored there!
Owens: you've got to catch it first.

Edinburgh should charge teams for these services - teams that are low in confidence and in need of morale boosting victories should pay us to turn up and play Poopie!

Much better from Connacht. Three loses from four , but this will give them a lift.

Yes. They have that game in hand away to Zebre.

Yep. Kind of feel bad for Zebre though.
I could see the confidence filtering back into the Connacht side once they got that Try. Maybe this will mark a return to form. Hopefully Buckley is ok. He didn't look good going off.

It is perhaps understandable given the week they've had but the Edinburgh players looked utterly bereft of confidence tonight, and that performance was several steps back from the improvements we've seen in recent weeks.
I was hoping for a backs to the wall hell fire and brimstone performance in defiance to our recent problems but instead we got a limp performance riddled with basic mistakes.
I actually want Nel and Hardie to leave Edinburgh - we are going to utterly ruin them as players if they stay.

It was always going to be tough on the losing team from the match.
Edinburgh will be better than this. They didn't have a great week with Solomons leaving but better days will come.
Connacht will take heart from this. Lam faces his PRO12 equivalent of New Zealand next match in their lair. Should be a great contest.
The loss of Buckley is very unfortunate given his performance against McNel.
Jack Carty might be feeling a bit more confident going up against the island''s form 10.

Confidence is certainly an issue, but a win or two can change all that. It's too early to know how Edinburgh are going to respond to the change in coach. I wouldn't read too much into this loss, and really wouldn't be getting rid of Nel and Hardie just yet. Edinburgh can turn their form around.

I would have more faith in your confidence for the future if it wasn't for the fact that we've been this bad for years...

I think the form dropped a bit from last season. I don't know why that would be, but do think a new coaching ticket has been required for a while now. I suppose all you can do is see how things work out now and, if it doesn't get much better, hope for a new coach next season.
Edit: On reading my own comment I'm even depressing myself. Cheer up, RDW It could be that you have been a mid table side for so long because Solomon couldn't take you to the next level. Maybe the change will work, but if it doesn't this season, then it's likely that you will get a new coach for next. That's the way I see it anyway. Edinburgh can turn this around.

I'm not overly fussed by it, and let's face it - how many people in Edinburghactually, even, care about Edinburgh pre-match press conferences....!
fixed that foryou
Seriously, the Craggy Islanders must have breathed a huge sigh of relief; a home match against the4thTHIRD worst team in the league, what better way to get back to winning ways?
Fixed that for you, my Luvvie amigo.
Mind you both the Italian sides now have games in hand on you , so doubtless I'll be updating it again soon.

RDW, you're trying to appeal to my better nature. Somewhat like trying to get Bru to buy a drink.
However,
Nel-Ford- Dickinson
Gray-Gray
Hardie-CDP- Bradbury
could be the pack that starts against Oz in November. So why the fecc is thee no fighting spirit evident in the Luvvies current, and historical, performances?
