Northampton v Montpellier
Anyone watching?
Early try for Saints. Nigel Owens telling off the French for screaming whilst charging down the conversion.

Doesn't the SH have to actually lift the ball off the ground before it's out now? Not just put hands on?

Re: Northampton v Montpellier
How were Montpellier not pinged for pulling down that maul? They had two players off their feet hanging on and dragging it down?

Re: Northampton v Montpellier
And the first two Montpellier players straight off their feet at that ruck and the almighty Nige pings Saints for holding on ...

He has had a starring role since the first kick..
Maybe there'll be one last plot twist?

No, Nige had it covered. Dramatic late penalty awarded by, well you know who!

Re: Northampton v Montpellier
In all seriousness Saints got away with that. Great kick by Myler under lots of pressure.

Just realised MHR has almost an all Georgian pack (4 players at the start). South Africans must feel bad about this.

Montpelier really bottled that. That kick by White ...weird game in the end.

Yep whocares - Montpellier will feel that they should have closed that one out.

Re: Northampton v Montpellier
Coming back from holiday yesterday so missed the match. The reports talk about Mallinder taking penalties, although the score summary shows all Myler, are they letting PH have a pop at the long range ones or something.
How did they play with PH at 12, most of us have been calling for that for a while?

I saw Malinder miss one from quite wide on the left but that is all I noticed really. I was in out out but thought that the Saints looked more dangerous than I've seen them in the Prem this season.

With Pisi at 13, I can only assume that Burrell was injured or not available for some reason and the change was forced or Burrell would have been at 13.
Harrison is going to have to up his game somewhat with Clark back. At the moment Saints can field a Gibson Harrison Dickinson reserve back row, 2 Saxons and a full England cap. It wouldn't surprise me to see Clark back in the England fold soon, he strikes me as very much a Jones sort of player, he could certainly do the Haskell role.

I didn't see it because I was playing with my club yesterday. From the articles, it seemed Saints started well, then went into a bit of sleepytime mode and Montpellier got back in it. Then just a game of inches until Saints won it late. For anyone who saw it, you think Saints earned the win?

I felt it was pretty even but Saints were just about on top again by the end.
