He's taken on a new role in his office to cover someone who left, so he said he'd be on sporadically.

Re: 6CW Chat v16
Hi guys.
QOTD:
Yeah absolutely matches can put people over in e-fedding, I think that goes without saying. I agree with Beer that it will require both sides to be promoing but without a doubt it happens. I think the way the guys wrote Crime Lord's title defenses in 6WF got him over insane amounts as a dominant champ.
I certainly feel Leone's run with me in 6CW back in 2011 got him over. His matches at Destiny certainly put him on the map. Losing to Dicey in a barbaric way only to return and win the Gold Rush cemented him as main event.
I also think it's crucial at times to put people over in your promos. I understand everyone wants their character to be a success but there are times when you need to boost others and play into the storylines. I remember Napalm beating JJ for the world title back in the day and my first promo afterwards was a glowing endorsement. He thanked me for it out of character (which obviously wasn't necessary) but sometimes a little elevation from others can go a long way.

Re: 6CW Chat v16
Crime Lord's defenses were brilliantly written and I have to admit i'm yet to see a character to be booked in that way. Holding the belt in the Time Attack without a single pin was testament to that run.
You're right about the matches, JJ. It's a huge part of it, but it's having the promos behind the match which i think makes the motivation for the person writing. JJ v Cassius for example; the promos and the build were off the charts, from all involved, so when Mat wrote the match he knocked it out of the park. Whereas Clarke James v McManus was a bore fest because it was a feud that had nothing to it.
Completely agree on promos as well. Sometimes you've got to be prepared to look weak against and opponent. You give a little, you get a little. There are characters i've felt have never really been prepared to make that sacrifice, and others who do it frequently. Sometimes it isn't about what you write; it's how you describe their actions, their expressions that can make a promo.

Re: 6CW Chat v16
I think the Time Attack stands out. At the end of it you didn't think "that was ridiculous" you sat back and thought "my god this guy is the real deal as champion".
But you're right you need the guys involved in the feud to promo. If you're a booker or a writer and you have a match where the participants have been blowing it out of the water then you feel the need/pressure to give them exactly what they deserve. It's a two way street and they play into one another but I absolutely agree.
With the Dicey/Leone feud they were killing it week in and week out, I knew they had to have matches that were out of this world because they did earn it.
There have been times when I haven't felt like putting someone over but I think the JJ character has evolved now and I have done. That run we went on building up to me facing Cassius at BIF I think I lost nearly every match but it all made sense and it's still right at the very top of booking I have seen and been part of.
Are there some characters I wish I personally could have put over or should have? Maybe one or two but I like to think I've done my fair share.

Re: 6CW Chat v16
Totally concur with what Beer's said, characters have so much more depth to them if they have a vunerable side, that's why fans of WWE hate the likes of Roman Reigns etc because he's built up as this indestructible Superman with no weaknesses. If you're a heel and the crowd favourite has just delivered a swathing putdown then show reaction, show that its wound you up, show that its touched a nerve rather than than swat it aside like you're Mr Invulnerable. If you're a heel then part of your job is to make the face loved, not just you hated.

Re: 6CW Chat v16
I do think there's a flip side in the vulnerability stakes, in that a character can get away with it, providing they've pulled it off for a while and are established. Crime Lord and Mike Hill are the best examples I can think of (from a 6WF perspective).
JJ had gone on a losing streak, lost to Takeo I think, was in the midst of the Saint/Patricks alliance, and even in the build up, just as you thought JJ was getting some momentum, Cassius put him back down.
The beauty of eFedding is that you get an opportunity to buck the trend. It doesn't always need to be booking 101.

I've not been on properly so I thought I'd hopefully put this to rest
Thunder/Mike and myself are different people originally from the same City and we went to school together
If you look at any WWA season you'll see there's no way I could put in all that effort with two shows while promoing as two accounts and about 5 characters...I'm a geek but I'm not on that level.

Personal:
Highlight: Wood's heel turn coming through and Wood going on to win the world title after two years of losses was a highlight for me
Miss: Wood only being a transitional champion and then Thunder disappearing before the feud could actually happen for the rematch...I am however really looking forward to Wood v Engel.
Overall:
Highlight: The introduction of 6WF guys and Cassius Zhi and the way it's shook up some of the stars of 6CW
Miss: We've lost some big names and Costello coming back for one promo was a bit gutting.

I'll do it quick as it could take forever -
Highs:
The Thunder cash-in
The rise of Zhi
Getting to do WF vs CW, regardless of it being old hat
Lows:
Losing Twist, Marky and others
No run for the O'Callaghan/Heath feud
Letting the midcard fluctuate

Serious QOTD:
You're put on creative, tasked with creating one big storyline. It has to last at least 3 months. What's your angle, who's involved and what's the pay off?
