What is happening with Selby???
Only fought once this year, had a tougher than expected outing against Montiel (Who was well passed it and got flattened in one round in his very next fight)
Looked less than Stellar against Eric Hunter and got dropped
He seems to have gone backwards and is very inactive =/

Maybe he got some decent PBC money and is relaxed about fighting. Can't stand inactive champions though so needs to move.
If he has only 1 fight left on Matchroom deal, he may be negotiating a new deal.

Re: What is happening with Selby???
Problem for Selby is that not only isn't he crowd pleasing he hasn't got much in the way of personality...
Santa Cruz was a winnable fight for good money for Frampton......Most of us would fancy Selby to beat Frampton but it isn't an easy sell...So Frampo is out....He doesn't need him.
Shouldn't think many would pay for Selby v Quigg....and Selby would want good money and rightly so..So that probably is out..
I see frustration ahead for this guy......Tricky, dull and charisma-free are sizeable problems at the moment......Probably more so now than anytime.

Frampton will fight Selby next year. Cyclone and Sanigar have teamed up on numerous cards recently (and McGuigan is happy to deal with Haymon).

I think Frampton will fight Selby in the summer as he is pretty adamant about wanting a fight back in Belfast and Selby is probably the biggest fight he could realistic get without having to travel.

If Frampton beats LSC again, McGuigan could put him in with anyone in Belfast and it would sell out a stadium. It would be really commendable if they went for Selby in that scenario.

Think he could already sell out a stadium in Belfast Haz. However beating LSC again will be a big help with TV viewing figures outside of NI.

You're completely right Haz they could put Frampton in against me and it would sell out Windsor Park. A lot of people going to watch his fights go just for the night out and to support the local star.
To the extent that I know a few people heading to Vegas who have never watched any bout not including Carl, and couldn't tell you anything about who he is fighting.
But I think despite this they would still need a decent name to keep US tv interested.

I'd chuck him in with Josh Warrington. They'd sell shedloads of tickets for that.

That's actually not a bad shout given he has now left Hearn it's even more do-able. The atmosphere at that would be electric too cause Warrington would bring a decent following with him.

Not sure it's a great call for warrington... would imagine he wants to milk his fan base for as long as it takes for an easier shot at a title to come up.
That said it would be good money and Leeds usually do a pre-season tour of ireland... so a well-timed July stadium fight might get some vocal 'away' support to help the atmosphere.

Re: What is happening with Selby???
Quigg remains Frampton's biggest fight. I'm sure he cleared four times as much cash for that fight compared to LSC (which seems nuts really). Difficult one for McGuigan who very definitely doesn't want to deal with Hearn any more.

Re: What is happening with Selby???
Can't see Frampton v Selby......or Warrington....Mcguigan will regard Warrington as not worthy and Selby is in the who-needs him club (ABC or not).......Frampton will have fought LSC and Quigg in three fights.....My guess is ...that will be worth an easy defence or two before a big match perhaps in the US...
My opinion is Selby isn't a good risk v reward ratio.......
I don't rate Warrington personally........Although I didn't rate a lot of fighters that ended up succeeding.
