Mythbusters
First topic message reminder :
I ain't afraid of no myth
Simple concept. One liners that debunk rugby myths.
E.g.
The man of the match can be chosen from the losing team.
The high tackle law should apply to South Sea Island teams.
Professional rugby players should be able to demonstrate a core set of skills irrespective of their position (no slack cut for forwards)
Share your mythbusters with me.
Busting makes me feel good.

Even referees think this - Owens penalised Howlett in the Magner's League final for not letting the player up. I don't understand why you should have to let them up. If a player slips you don't have to let them up.

The referee was right in that case. You don't have to let him up but you can't fall on him.

'You don't know which French team will turn up.' Yes you do, just read the team sheet.

Thanks Stag. I really should play less attention to commentators!

Barry Honan does not represent the IRB, this however is from one of their official documents:
"A player may pass (throw the
ball) to a team mate who is in a
better position to continue the
attack, but the pass must not
travel towards the opposing
team’s goal line. It must travel
either directly across the field, or
back in the direction of the
passer’s own goal line."

Cueto's foot was never in touch and England were denied a RWC victory because of a poor TMO call.

Chris Ashton rewrote the book on wing play by inventing the ideas of running supporting lines off ball carriers and tracking the ball during offensive movements.

Re: Mythbusters
Grey Ghost, I'm sorry but I dint think you get it. The statements are supposed to be true, not sarcastic and debunk myths.
Therefore, let's say you think Irelands golden generation is a myth. The mythbuster is
"Ireland did not have a Golden Generation"
See?
It's quite simple really.
"scrummaging is not just about the props"
See?
