This is by no means the worst match thread we've ever seen - that title goes to jimbo who created an Edinburgh match thread that just said

Re: Glasgow vs Cardiff 7 January 2017
I'm pretty sure Jim wrote 'Discus', to describe Edinburgh's season: that it starts with a great deal of energy and shouting, reaches a pinnacle at Christmas, then squelches into the grass by March and doesn't do very much.
But you're right, 'Discuss' is better.

Re: Glasgow vs Cardiff 7 January 2017
nice that it's on Alba.
Interesting facts about this fixture!
Glasgow score 2.2 tires per game on average against the blues
Cardiff score 1.9 tries per game on average against the warriors
Glasgow score 2.3 penalties to Cardiff's 2.2 per game
on average, Glasgow score 21.2 points in this fixture while Cardiff score 18.8
Stats don't take into effect the home and away status of the fixture but it would indicate a close match where the loser will probably pick up a losing bonus point and neither will get the four tries! Given that this is at home, I'm going for a score of Glasgow 23 (three tries) Cardiff 16 (one try)

Re: Glasgow vs Cardiff 7 January 2017
Well I am just about to take off from Stansted on my way up to Glasgow to watch this one.
It is kind of a must win game as far as the league goes for both teams.
Glasgow in terms of making the play offs. We can't afford another home defeat.
Blues in terms of making top 6 and the Champs cup next year.
Should be a decent game. Both sides like the plastic pitch and the weather forecast is not so bad.
Looking forward to it

Jeezo, can't help but laugh at that team selection - Lutui, VDV, Leonardi, Leonard, Jones, Atiga, Braid (who??), Blaauw, Hilterbramd, Dominguez, Cuthbert - apparently we had a big win that game and I have no idea how!

It tells you more about how far Connacht have come, having lost to that pretty mince Edinburgh team (particularly the backline)! I can't even picture Braid at 13, and I've no idea why I picked Leonardi at 6 ahead of Grant. Must have been drunk.
Glasgow will beat Cardiff with something to spare.

Re: Glasgow vs Cardiff 7 January 2017
Very strong team listed by Glasgow, despite Hogg and Pyrgos being rested. Still, we also see the problem with Big Brian being banned; we're suddenly down to Ginger Rob as a lock replacement (which he really isn't) and/or Jonny and Tiny Tim playing the full 80.
15. Peter Murchie

That is a strong team, and I don't think Price starting ahead of Pyrgos weakens Glasgow at the moment.
It's good seeing Adam Ashe back playing again.

I'll be keen to see how Peter Murchie performs in this game. I thought Glenn Bryce played some really good rugby, particularly in attack, at the end of last season. Murchie so far has looked less than solid in defence and hasn't offered much in attack.

Apparently Racing 92 are one of two teams in the cup (the real cup not the diddy cup, my east coast brethren) who haven't lost scrum on their own put in in the tournament.
Surely they must be top of the group then.
Oh yes, the Ladyboys are the others if you must know.

Blues being pinged who ever wheels the scrum the team that wheels normally gets pinged but Glasgow clearly wheeling the last two pens. Cuthbert butchers a try and a chance in mid field.
Glasgow well on top but could end up losing this if the blues get the ball.
