Leicester's closest away match so far was the tight 42-13 match up at Scotstoun. At home they have won both matches in relatively tight battles and are a completely different animal. Glasgow have played excellently against Racing and Leicester but have lacked a clinical edge against Munster. With Leicester out and Glasgow probably in need of a victory to avoid Sarries in the quarters, it will be fascinating to see what teams show up. Will Leicester go for young guns who give it their all (a la Racing last week)?

Thank you Spoons. I imagine I have forgotten quite a few details, I have not pulled my weight recently with thread creation. Probably should find a photo for both

I know exactly what you mean , Eejit. One way our another it will be emotional; either we go through and it's party time or we don't and we all get rising damp in the shoulders from letting Bru cry on them.
Either way it will be a story to tell, someday, if anyone is interested, ever.

Shucks.
With regards to the game, if Glasgow's pack can perform like they did against Munster, it should be a fairly comfortable win for them. Leicester's defence is no way near as good as the Irishmen so would hope that Glasgow can capitalise.
Glasgow by 10.

And Lidl do proper Scottish rolls.
So, in England, you can get a square sausage and tattie scone roll.
A Masterchef badboy.

Oooooh, I'd kill for a Lorn Roll. As a form of solidarity with the lovely Hagia Sophia, I've gone vegetarian for the month of January (she's gone vegan, but it's hardly the strangest thing she's done - that is surely agreeing to go out with me).
Generally it's going pretty well, but occasionally I have quite dangerous urges. Yesterday I was wandering in my supermarket looking for a lunchtime sandwich, and I found myself in the meat aisle. There was a pack of organic braising steak that just looked so f***ing good.

Re: Leicester vs Glasgow, 17:30 KO Saturday 21st January 2017
I hope people enjoy the game, and I hope anyone travelling from Glasgow receives the same jovial hospitality my brother an I did up at your place. (While that may sound sarcastic, it really is not).
Sadly, or maybe not, I really cannot be arsed to travel up for this fixture - my seat will instead be occupied by a teddy bear. I shall be climbing with my daughter and as such will miss us finding ways to lose the ball while trying to attack.
My prediction - 3 intercept tries for the Glasgow midfield, and one penalty try for a high challenge by Harry Thacker on Junior Grey.

Well, I have decided that this game will be the first one I go to this season (being in London, not that easy)
I am also going with my misses, a Leicester supporter, but am lucky her Dad a Leicester season ticket holder is not there.
There will be no hiding from this. I will stand tall and take it on the chin.
( no crying like the World Cup match against Australia..... :-O )

Gentlemen, may I suggest we spend a moment contemplating the state of mind of any poor Tigger's fan who has blundered in here looking for our deep insights into the make up of the Warriors squad before Saturday's match.

Fun fact: Glasgow have conceded the joint fewest turnovers of any side in the champs cup on average (11 per game)
Interesting fact: There are over 20 towns named Glasgow in the US, as well as several in Canada, including New Glasgow. Glasgow is twinned with several cities, including Jerusalem
Hard hitting fact: Glasgow have never progressed beyond round one of any Euro competition. Unlike their nearest, and superior rivals, Edinburgh!

Re: Leicester vs Glasgow, 17:30 KO Saturday 21st January 2017
Tigers big advantage is the fact that the pitch is narrower than the standard pitch. Which tends to allow us to defend against top attacking backs a bit better.
It will be a tight game, but I fancy our scrum against anyone's at welford road and I think it will be a 2-5 point win for Tigers.
Ayerza and Barrow are meant to be fit for this weekend which adds more grunt to our team. And Owen Williams is meant to be fit.
Hoping the Tigers team will be
1) Genge
2) Youngs
3) Cole
4) Slater
5) Williams
6) MCCaffrey
7) Evans
8) Hamilton
9) Youngs
10) Burns
11) Thompstone
12) Williams
13) Smith
14) Betham
15) Worth
16) Thacker
17) Ayerza
18) Bateman/Cilliers
19) Barrow
20) O'Connor
21) Kitto
22) Harrison
23) Brady
Tigers have only lost once in their last 32 home European home games (Drawing 3 games) and that was to Ulster 3 seasons ago.
Also only team in the pool stages to beat Munster.
Should be a good game.
Tigers won't roll over (I hope)

Glasgow have regularly been seen playing in the Champions cup, Unlike their nearest, most bouffantest, mino cup playing, rugby shy Edinburgh
Updated that for you.

Re: Leicester vs Glasgow, 17:30 KO Saturday 21st January 2017
The latest interview with the Toonmeister seems to suggest that Henners Piecrust is the only returned from injury. So
1. Shriek
2. Keith Earls' Mate
3. Sila
4.Jonny
5.Timbo
6.Tackle Monster
7.Batman
8. Bluto
9. Henners
10. Dancer
11. Seymour
12. Dunbar
13.
14. Selkirk Pixie
15. Lions' Stand off
16. Allan
17. Weepee
18. Ragnar
19. Naughty boy
20. Fusaro
21. All 1 Price
22. Griggs
23. Murchie
Not much different from last week, but with no real change on the injury front the Tombola will be left at home. Home advantage, very narrow pitch and heavy going underfoot all favour the Tiggers, so a five pointer for Glasgow and Batman man of the match.
If anyone wants to take issue with that prediction, I'll be in the Parcel Yard pre match and Bru will be buying.

He is but the Tigger lads might not know that.
Actually, I did it because otherwise Eck the street brawler would have been the only back without a nickname

RDW, despite being a Luvvie, you do have your good points: but you do take things very literally and you are pedantic even for an engineer

Glasgow's bench really isn't much to write home about - Edinburgh's bench is almost better than that!

I'll be there buddy, with the monopoly money and the winning smile.jimbopip wrote:Home advantage, very narrow pitch and heavy going underfoot all favour the Tiggers, so a five pointer for Glasgow and Batman man of the match.
If anyone wants to take issue with that prediction, I'll be in the Parcel Yard pre match and Bru will be buying.

Gin? Gin?
Oh the follies of youth. We're in Engelundshire , they expect us to be breathing whisky fumes. I'll put a decent malt in a hip flask .

You could try the local gin Burleigh or there's the local vodka Two Birds. They come from the north and the south of the county. There's plenty of local beer but you guys will have to bring the whisky with you.

Not much different from last week, but with no real change on the injury front the Tombola will be left at home. Home advantage, very narrow pitch and heavy going underfoot all favour the Tiggers, so a five pointer for Glasgow and Batman man of the match.

I can't see Fargerson not starting, he had a very good game last weekend. Pulifisi will bench if he is fit, he was working of a concussion, so that is in the balance. Otherwise Rae will do just fine.
The only other starters that you might see come in would be Favaro, if he is fit and maybe Sam Johnson, who started all the other euro games. I would also still start with Ali Price, who other than the drop goal that did not happen, did not play badly.
The bench will be much improved by having Pygros, Big Brian and maybe Bennett coming on later in the game.
I would not pay to much attention to the medical updates, probably all smoke and mirrors anyway. We will find out for sure at lunchtime.

With the new pitch it will not be heavy going. There may be a lot of cramp though in the final 20.

Now now Tattie, lets not go all class warrior. We leave the chippy inferiority complex stuff to the residents of Scotland's second city.
If fit I'd go with Favaro over Batman, he's pretty much better at everything and tackles like a proper nutter, unlike the faux aggression you get from Wilson. Favaro has been a cracking signing.

Lemonade? Presume you mean tonic water.
Tigers are waiting in the fitness of three or four players so who knows what team we'll put out. Welford Road shod be noisy though with the two pint cups flowing.

Happy with that team mostly.
Back row looks more physical and gives Evans and Ellis a rest after 2 80 minute games.
Maybe swap Tait for Worth.

Re: Leicester vs Glasgow, 17:30 KO Saturday 21st January 2017
Sorry failed to cut and paste from website so tried to note it down from memory.
Looks a weak team to me and I think we're going to taking a kicking. Tait was appalling in almost every aspect last weekend so I assume Worth is injured. The midfield is lightweight and I can't see us creating much there. Bateman is about the fifth choice at loosehead, Fitzgerald won't compete at the lineout and Williams seems to have caught Pearce's ability to drop the ball in contact.

Same team for Glasgow as last week, with a better bench. That's about as good as we could have hoped for.

If we could turn to the scrum and the lineout for superiority then yes. However, unless we turn up and play for 80 like we did in the final 40 against Wasps I can see us taking a kicking.
No Smith in the midfield means we have no defensive general and no and hard ball carrier in attack.

Smith in the midfield didn't help us v Wasps or Racing defence wise.
Roberts was fine V Munster at home.

I can envisage us getting a thrashing that will make the Scotstoun experience seem like a happy memory.
